I love DC - & I would love to work in gov't...
Not the words I would use, but American is unlikely to do you as much good as SMU. You might also benefit significantly by sitting out a cycle to retake, at least in terms of money.
Do you think SMU carries any weight in DC or govt in general?
Sent you a PM.
Thank you for taking the time to do that

Hey just checking in. I decided this week to join you guys in Class of 2017 instead of going to WUSTL where I had originally intended, and I am incredibly pumped. I grew up in Park Cities and live on Hillcrest/NW Hwy, so it's going to be nice to be going to school in my hometown again!!!
If anyone is at lives around here and wants to try and organize a C/O 2017 meetup or something (or if there is already one in the works) PM me and I would be happy to help with that.
Anyway, glad to be here and thrilled to finally be set on a school!

For all of us waitlist guys....
Based on the threads from the last couple years, it looks like they start pulling off in june/july but I emailed earlier with LOCI and asked if they were anticipating a timeframe on the waitlist and received the following
We do not have any plans to make offers from the waitlist any time soon.

I wonder if it is just too early, or if SMU's jump in rankings, has them busy with enough qualified applicants.

I'm assuming just too early but I'm writing this year off and retaking in fall
from looking at previous years, it seems like SMU uses the waitlist as a limbo before they're denied, that way they can pick off it if needed.

I got into the Part-Time program but had expressed interest in full time/part time. The admissions lady I spoke to said that those already admitted into the Part-Time program will be admitted into the Full-Time before those on the wait-list if they express interest. I look at it as since they notify people so late about acceptance, they could slide a Part-Timer into Full-Time and then have a much better chance of someone accepting a part-time admission. I figure most part-time applicants are usually people already working and wouldn't have committed anywhere else, maybe? Who knows.

For everyone admitted, are you all still deciding or have you selected SMU?

Did anyone else get a letter about an event for attending students in June (13)? I can't seem to find the dang thing, and don't remember the particulars. I was hoping to also nail down housing during this visit.

If you're in the facebook group, there is an event set up for it.
If you need to bounce areas or complexes off someone who lives here, feel free to pm

Anyone seen any waitlist movement? I think if I submit another inquiry / LOCI I may receive a "cease and desist" in the mail from Alan...I figure this is a better outlet at this point

lol I'm in about the same situation. I was told that, with the exception of a few years ago, most of the waitlist movement happens in june/july so I'm hoping for something.
I've been sending about 1 LOCI a month, sometimes with other stuff like having them update my address.

Did you apply for FT or PT? Or both?
