The unemployed number is a bit scary. The other numbers aren't too different (maybe a tad better) than 2011, and Wake hasn't dropped to a TTT yet. So I'm a little concerned by these numbers, but I don't think it will translate to some long-term drop in reputation or prospects. Not to mention, 2013 was a huge class. Those of us entering this fall will be one of the smallest classes nationwide in years and possibly decades. So I'm hoping that will work in our favor!

Are admissions decisions typically communicated on Fridays? Is this why people expect to hear this week?

That's the way it seems to work (except it doesn't look like there were any decisions sent out last Friday for some reason).pooks wrote:Are admissions decisions typically communicated on Fridays? Is this why people expect to hear this week?

There is a post on the FB group, if you're on that.RonBurgundy wrote:Not sure I'll be in by then but I'll post if I do make it in town. So obviously we don't all look like our profile pics. How did you all plan to find each other in a crowded bar?hailcaesar34 wrote:Meet up at foothill brewery downtown at 8/830ish and than go from there. Had a great time this weekend - it was so good to meet everyone. Wake is definitely my top choice now.

So I dont think I actually met any of you at ASD but I had a great time. Top choice for sure.
Regarding the unemployment info. At the optional session I asked the them directly why it was so high (28 unemployed in Class of 2013) and whether it was normal. Apparently it isnt normal and it is due to a 10% statewide drop in bar passage rates. Since the rate dropped, that extra group that failed was unemployed. Dunno if that is good news or not but at least it seems if you pass the bar you have less to worry about.

That's less frightening than knowing that 28 people just couldn't get a job.RonBurgundy wrote:So I dont think I actually met any of you at ASD but I had a great time. Top choice for sure.

Anyway, I'm withdrawing my other applications and heading for Wake Forest!!

Yep...extremely hard decision, but I felt it was the right choice for me. I don't want to be a slave to biglaw to pay off my debt. Wake may not offer as many great opportunities, but I at least have the freedom to pursue things I'm passionate about and not just the money.itachiuchiha wrote:over Vandy? Thanks, and same to you! I'm hoping to get back up there late Spring/early Summer to look for an apartment/house. Maybe for the house-hunting thing they do.shaynislegend wrote:Congrats AT9, I think you made the right decision. Better news than just WF dropping 10%, they didn't seem too worried about it since they know the source of the problem.RonBurgundy wrote:So I dont think I actually met any of you at ASD but I had a great time. Top choice for sure.
