What's next with what? It to apply to LS?

what's next as far as pre-law school prep.

I see. I should start getting into the whole pre LS prep

a lot of people say it's unnecessary but I see a lot of diff advices here and there so idk.

I don't get the pricing of LEEWS. How much is it? The website looks like it has t been updated since 1999

seems like the 2005 ver. of it is around 200 on amazon with the audio and everything. that's what I have.

I just think it's funny they guarantee at least a B while grades are curved to a B+.

there's a 2010 one but the CD's have stayed the same apparently. Also people say the CD is where it's at and not the book.. not sure though since I haven't even cracked it open yet

there's a 2010 one but the CD's have stayed the same apparently. Also people say the CD is where it's at and not the book.. not sure though since I haven't even cracked it open yet

Seems like amazon is selling the 2005 version from third party sellers

Legal education hasn't changed much since 2005....you should be happy they aren't changing their books every 2-3 years like most textbook companies do.

The new version is $45 (just book). Not bad

Legal education hasn't changed much since 2005....you should be happy they aren't changing their books every 2-3 years like most textbook companies do.

Is anybody not okay with this $750 deposit? I'm currently WLed at two schools and waiting on a few other decisions but this is my best option at the moment. This deposit is genius but mean....

Supposedly the scholarship stip doesn't actually matter because only one person in many years has actually lost a scholarship, and even then it was his/her own fault for refusing to take up opportunities offered by the administration to keep it.

I bet if you talked with them about it, assuming that the deposit is causing a legitimate financial burden, they would work with you. It couldn't hurt.

It's not so much financial burden, because I can pay it. I'm just not okay with losing that deposit if I get a good offer off the waitlist at a better school. $750 is insane compared to $200 or even $400 at other schools.

this may be a stupid question but I got the 30K/year scholarship with the 3.15 GPA stip.

When i tell other people about that stip, they say that it's ridiculously high.

But when I look at the website, it seems like it's the top 75%? or C average?

Am I missing something? Is the stip really ridiculous and difficult to achieve or does W&L just grade differently??

I'm a member of the Class of 2015, and I have the same stip. I was getting 2.85 or so at every other school I applied to, and was initially turned off by it. It's not that difficult to achieve. Something like 70% of students are above a 3.15. Even if you're below it, they do not revoke your scholarship immediately, like other schools. They /may/ decrease it until you get it above the 3.15, but even then, they'll work with you and try to let you keep it. I was told by Dean Twitty that only one student in the past seven years or something has actually lost their scholarship, and that was only because they were refusing to go to class/do work.

Interesting. I don't fancy leaving my scholarship up to that, though. The stip is still very imposing.

Actually, I think a stip is okay.
The school (not just W&L but schools in general) is giving students thousends of dollars basically (well.. Literally) for free. I don't thik that it's too much to ask that the school will want them to be at some academic level. I find it pretty valid.

Yeah .. Top 60% or 70% is not too shabby .. And if you're anal enough to be on TLS then you're probably better off than 40% of the entering class anyway haha
