Do they negotiate? Probably shouldn't ask cause I don't have a school that is anywhere near Minnesota

Just listened to a podcast with Brother Ali on it so I figured I'd bump the Minnesota thread.

Got a ridiculously great scholarship that I wasn't expecting one bit (in fact I was not expecting to get in so easily), so I am considering it if I end up liking the city and the school. I've never been around there at all, so I'm excited to check it out.

haha ditto, stats?
166/approx. 3.5
Yours?

I read that they're trying to pull in 166 applicants on here, but felt my GPA was low for getting such a great scholly. Anyway, I'm not going to question it!

If you're talking MN-UCLA- Gophers beat them. If MN-Florida- Florida won.

Either way- Tubby Smith fired. My commitment now rests on who is hired to coach the Gophers next year...

Yeah lots of 166 movement for UMN..I also thought my GPA was too low for the offer they made me..2.78 166
Did you get in off the Waitlist? I saw a lot of WL -> Accepted applicants with great scholarship offers on LSN. I just got in off the bat, not that it makes a difference.

Just had my scholarship negotiation attempt shot down, which pretty much rules out UMN for me. The dean also spelled my name wrong - way to add insult to injury, man.

Will wait it out a bit longer, but I think I'll be withdrawing in the near future. Good luck to everyone else trying for more $$

Food for thought for those considering the U; my friend in Minneapolis just posted "It's fucked up that I think 45 degrees is t-shirt weather."

Minnesotan here. I can confirm. Right now and it's amazing outside and I'm about to go for a run.

Phone says it's 21F.

I used to be able to sympathize but since moving to Texas anything under 65=hoodie weather. I'm such a wimp now.
