Were the trails fresh at least?

Last night I had a dream that Chicago didn't offer me an interview, so I thought it would be a good idea to show up at the Dean of Admission's house - just to, you know, say hi.

When I get there, she invites me in and tells me that her husband was just about to leave for a ski trip, and that I should join him. After all, we're old friends, right? So I take a ski trip with the husband.

As we're riding up the chairlifts, the husband is interviewing me regarding why I want to go to law school, why Chicago, mistakes that I made in my application (in my dream, there were lots of such mistakes, and he seemed to know them all by heart!)

FInally, when the day is over, and we're exhausted, walking back to the vehicles, the husband tells me: "You know, you're not getting into Chicago."

Terrible. How do I come up with these scenarios in my head?

That story was like Farewell to Arms -- seems happy, everything going well, then BAM, everyone dies. Broke my heart.

Actually there was a big storm howling, so it was snowing quite a lot. So, yes.

Hahahahaha that is exactly what I thought too at that point in the story... I was like "Damn LSATSCORES2012.... your dreams are f'ed up."

hahaha glad to know I am not the only one with weird dreams...

I went to stay with a friend the week before my Chicago interview, so I could rehearse my answers day and night... the practice definitely paid off, because one night I even dreamed about my interview:

I was explaining "why Chicago" and the interviewer interrupted my emotional speech, he said in Mandarin (my mother tongue) "can you say that in Mandarin?"

I obliged and repeated my answer, and the interviewer cut me off and said "ok, go back to sleep"... I felt really hurt and said "you should at least let me finish this question, it's not 20 minutes yet"

....

The next morning, I was told shortly after I fell asleep, I started speaking English in my dream. After a while my friend realized I was saying "I have been a huge fan of the Becker-Posner blog, blah blah law and economics blah blah"

he found it amusing and asked me if I can say it in Mandarin, and I started repeating the stuff I just said... When he got bored he told me I should go back to sleep, and I protested (he even got a recording of that and played it back thousands of times)

....

my conclusion: disastrous interview dreams do not necessarily lead to disastrous outcome, except embarrassing sleep talk recordings...

FWIW, I was updated to 1/11 UR as a borderline applicant (10/12 Complete, 12/17 UR, 1/3 Interview, 1/3 UR, 1/11 UR)

I have similar numbers, but I'm still at 12/21 (interviewed early december). I'm hoping they start gettinb batches out today!

I did interview (Got my request about 2 weeks after initial UR date though.) Depends when your file went complete. If it was in november/december, I would say no reason to worry.

Turtle walking looks like a NASCAR race compared to Chicago's admissions process this year. I didn't go complete till the end of November

This whole thing is pretty cray with the office still working on October apps in January. What's going to happen to December and January submits? Are people still going to be interviewing in March?

Just had my interview. It didn't go well on my end, but the interviewer was very friendly and responsive. I doubted my chances before the interview and now I'm fairly confident I won't be meeting any of you in Chicago in the Fall.

Just out of curiosity, what went so poorly?

I just gave some pretty lackluster answers, was probably too personal with some of my answers, and didn't commit to distinguishing myself from everyone else. I didn't totally bomb it or anything, but my interview also isn't going to convince anyone to overlook my numbers.

Hang in there man - it doesn't sound like it was that bad. I was pretty worried after mine as well (thought I might have spent too long on some of my answers).
