Re: SMU 2012
possibly stupid question here:
my status check changed such that I can't toggle between full-time and part-time, reading "Application Completed." Does this mean they made a decision for one, and are still considering me for the other? Does the SMU status ever show "in review," or something of the like?

Which ever one it shows is the one you will probably get in to.Archoholic wrote:possibly stupid question here:

I applied both and then it went to PT-Evening. I eventually was denied FT and accepted PT.
April Ludgate on this forum had the opposite happen to her.

Application just changed to part-time only.
Does this mean I'm in for PT or they're going to review me as PT only now?

When was your application originally completed? (just trying to see if there is any sort of timeline, I am still waiting to hear)Archoholic wrote:possibly stupid question here:

Re: SMU 2012
I believe mine was complete on 2/20. I spoke with an admissions officer earlier today (accidentally - I was trying to reach the receptionist, who is an advanced 3E, or maybe 4E?, about the PT program), and she said they're trying to get some responses out in the next week or two. *crosses fingers*AgLaw wrote:When was your application originally completed? Has anyone who was held for further review from early decisions heard anything?

Not me. It says the end of April on status checker, so probably anytime within the next few weeks. Getting antsy.dallas12 wrote:Has anyone who was held for further review from early decisions heard anything?

Most likely. That is what happened to me. Apparently you can only be accepted in to one.noleknight16 wrote:Application just changed to part-time only.Does this mean I'm in for PT or they're going to review me as PT only now?

Re: SMU 2012
From SMU:
Can I apply to both the day and evening programs at the same time? Do I have to pay two application fees?
You may apply for both programs with the same application. Simply check the boxes for both the full-time J.D. (day program) and the part-time J.D. (evening program). Please note, however, that a candidate will only be extended an offer of admission to one program. If you have a preference of programs, please note that on your application. Only one application fee ($75) is required.

Re: SMU 2012
Hmm... my application was completed 1/18 and haven't heard anything... does it even matter what day the application was completed if it was after ED?
Are people actually getting notified that they are denied admission? I would hate to keep checking it if they don't want me anyway...

So, the most important question of the thread thus far...
Is FIOS available in the M-Street/Eat Dallas area?

Those AT&T tickturds won't see my money. Other options? (Actually I might try going cable free with a Roku).holdencaulfield wrote:Uverse is.Stevoman wrote:So, the most important question of the thread thus far...

I don't loathe AT&T like most, but 24mbps is pretty meh. Looks like Time Warner offers 50mbps, that could work...BVest wrote:Those AT&T tickturds won't see my money.holdencaulfield wrote:Uverse is.Stevoman wrote:So, the most important question of the thread thus far...

$15,000/yr for LSAT just below their Median and GPA near 75th... is that about right for someone with my stats?

According to LSN, it's average. The only people who got anything more than that were above the 75th. A few of them were at or above the 25th for the LSAT. What was your score?

I had Time Warner for two years, and it sucked ass. My service constantly went out, and would be out for hours while TIme Warner tried to fix it. I switched to AT&T last fall, and it's actually been better, and I haven't really noticed a difference with the speed.

Have any of you all picked a target spot to live? Right now, I'm leaning towards the Village Apartments, either in a 1 one bedroom or 2 bedroom place if I can find a roommate. It seems like SMU law students tend to be scattered all over the place.

This is probably more appropriate for the class of '15 board, but Mrs. BVest and I are currently looking at houses in M Streets and White Rock Lake area.

Re: SMU 2012
For all students:
The registrar posted the block schedule for Fall 2012.
http://www.law.smu.edu/Registrar/Course ... -2012.aspx
For FT students, with the exception of LWRA, you will be in Section 1 or 2 for 1L courses (courses in italics).
For PT students, you will be Section 3. As a 1E you will only have Civ. Pro., Torts, Contracts, and LWRA.
You will notice that LWRA has 12 sections, 1-4 meet early, 5-8 meet late. If you are in the early class first semester you will have the late class second semester, and vice versa. Same thing for PT students; sections 9-10 meet early, 11-12 meet late. You will be switched second semester.
Section 3 Property, Con. Law, and Criminal Law are for 2E's.
