Just got the WL email. It's better than I expected to do. I also just put a deposit down on Columbia yesterday, so... Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

we should probably ditch this thread for harvard 2011, since nobody is held any more and its too confusing to cross post

A lot of people are exposing themselves though. All that "I love this school and I'd go there over anywhere else...and I am SOOOOOOOOO amped" All of a sudden they get a Harvard waitlist and they have to ride it out (despite full rides or great offers elsewhere). I just found the power of the H to be a little funny.

With all that said, I'll ride it out too. One more thing, anyone know Columbia's policy about not withdrawing from other place once you put that the deposit?

You can ride out WLs at CLS.

cardinals1989 wrote:Very likely I will be depositing here early next week. What is Columbia's policy on riding WL's again?
CLS website wrote:We recognize that choosing a law school can sometimes be overwhelming; however, out of consideration for and fairness to the rest of our applicant pool, we cannot support the practice of placing deposits at multiple law schools. Therefore, if you decide to hold a place at Columbia, we ask that you refrain from doing the same at other law schools. Should we discover that a candidate has made commitments to multiple law schools, Columbia reserves the right to revoke our offer of admission.
To me that means as long as you are not depositing elsewhere (e.g. just riding the WL) you're fine.
+1
I actually called and asked - schools that haven't given us a decision and WLs are fine.
