Re: In at NYU
I emailed NYU and asked for an extension. That was more than a week ago, and I still haven't heard back with an answer, so you might want to cover all your bases by asking NYU and seeing if Columbia could work with this new deadline.amorfati wrote:eeek, I just saw the April 4th deadline for the financial aid package... I would really like to wait and see if I get off the Columbia hold list (supposed to find out by April 22). Does anyone have any thoughts on what the best course of action would be? Perhaps ask NYU for an extension, or ask Columbia to hurry up? (Don't want to piss Columbia off, though...)

NYU, I've been in "final stage of review" for over a month now. I'm just saying.

Ha! Yes. But it's a nearer commute to NYC from Norwalk (or thereabouts). Plus, Yale's worth it.bdubs wrote:Your fiance would rather be in New Haven than in Cambridge? That is novel.Sandrew wrote:Fiancé said no. Location an issue.mst wrote: Why didn't you apply to Harvard if you dont mind me asking?

Linzer, I and others are probably on some overarching "make them wait" list that was sent out by the LSAC.chasgoose wrote:Well I'm still waiting and I didn't apply for any fancy scholarships if that makes you feel any better...LinzerTorte wrote:You also got a ding for the RTK, right?mel2010 wrote:+1, passed the month mark yesterday :/LinzerTorte wrote:Dammit, I am still e-mail free!

No one has a opinion about what to wear to the interview? Are we all enemies now? I just got the list of the types of things that were asked about last year from my student contact. Nice to know we may be asked policy questions. I am 99% certain I am going to be subject to a quiz on the field I am in.

Did your student contact just recently email you? When I got the call telling me I'm a finalist I was told I'd be contacted, but I still haven't been.sarahh wrote:No one has a opinion about what to wear to the interview? Are we all enemies now? For what to wear I think either of the two options you mentioned earlier are fine. If you have a suit, wear it, but I wouldn't go out and buy one for this (granted you probably will need a suit at some point anyways so if you don't have any dramatic weight loss/gain plans in mind it probz wouldn't be a bad investment).sarahh wrote:No one has a opinion about what to wear to the interview? Yesterday. If you want, you can PM your e-mail address and I can send you the list. It is an attachment.somewhere wrote:Did your student contact just recently email you? Me too lol. I'm putting off buying new suits as long as possible. My current two are too big.sarahh wrote:Thanks! God, that interview sounds terrifying. I have found in previous job interviews that the better dressed I am the more mentally prepared I feel, so I would probably do a suit, but to each their own.

I'd think protocol dictates you wear a suit when asking someone for a gift of well over a hundred thousand dollars. Looking like you didn't care very much would be an unfortunate reason to miss the scholarship.Anastasia Dee Dualla wrote:Um...every person I saw last year was in a suit. Yeah, if you have experience in a certain field, I guess they expect you to be knowledgeable about the laws dealing with that field.neonx wrote:Wait.
