Probably get a decision tomorrow. That happened to me, I checked my status on 3/8 and my review changed to 3/7 and then like 2 hours later I got the e-mail.Danimal wrote:I've been in review since 1/13, but my "current status date" changed to 4/14...does this mean anything?

I'm looking for a roomate(s) also.
I heard the miracle mile is nice and close to the school. I'm not really familiar with that part of L.A. though.

I know that the time the letters are sent may vary, but do you remember what time you got the e-mail?RAB wrote:Probably get a decision tomorrow. I've been accepted as well! I got the response about 10 days ago via e-mail, and the packet arrived in the mail a week later. I'm excited.
Question (and I hope some of you late-sleepers are up):
Is anyone going to the Admitted Students Day today? I never registered and haven't a clue if they'd accept a walk-in, but I also have work tomorrow morning. Any advice? Is it worth going, or should I just schedule a "private" day as mentioned in the email as an alternative?

Waitlisted.....3.1 with 155 Lsat. Kind of surprised and disappointed. Thought I would have a good shot. Did everyone do the optional essays on the waitlist? They seem absurdly broad.

Your GPA is holding you down..apply for part time and send that letter or visit the school..remember your nothing but a piece of paper to them, show your face and write letters. I got in with my God awful numbers because of my persistence..so you can too

If you decide not to write the optional essay, I think you can pretty much forget about ever getting of the WL. At minimum write the essay.

Applied in mid-November. I actually did visit the school in January for the SCALE presentation (I live within 25 miles). The school has a classy, upscale hotel lobby feel. Met some admissions people and chatted it up. They told me they usually reach a decision within 8-10 weeks. It took mine roughly 14 weeks. Probably would have benefitted from staying in touch but Im already writing the essays so......I'm staying positive. Just wanted to see where I fall on the spectrum of applicants.sanjola wrote:When did you apply?jiggatman21 wrote:Waitlisted.....3.1 with 155 Lsat. Kind of surprised and disappointed. Also, just wondering, being waitlisted basically eliminates my chances of receiving any significant aid/scholarships...correct?

I would say so. I withdrew, but was one of the earlier admittances to SCALE with a 3.3/158 and received nothing in terms of scholarships, which is why I decided not to go there and attend a better school for a ton cheaper. I guess you never know, but I certainly wouldn't count on it. It just seemed like they really did care about trying to seem real friendly and all, but when it comes down to it, it seemed like they also thought that they were a ton better than a lot of other schools and that you should go to Southwestern because they are a great place to be..when in reality, their statistics certainly don't back that up one bit.jiggatman21 wrote:Applied in mid-November. I've met a ton of employers in the past week and done my research. They tell me they weigh Loyola and Southwestern at the same level, it's just based on your position in the class.ballboy899 wrote:I would say so. I would write the essay. My roommate was wait-listed. She sent in an essay right away and was accepted off the wait-list the day seat deposits were due.

Re: Southwestern 2011
I have been seeing that people are being taken off the waitlist at LSN.
There are numerous of individuals including me that still are in review since 1/13, and have recently had a date change to 4/14. I am wondering why they are looking at the waitlist when they still have applications pending for initial consideration???
