There it is. Waitlisted via status checker.
Only sad because it's my first decision of the cycle. Poop.
Edit: And also just because it's a little sad.

Yeah, I normally am skeptical when people claime YP, but Minnesota seems to be pretty blatant about it this year.chrisbru wrote:That's another YP example... has to be:dcwumpus wrote:There it is. Waitlisted via status checker.

Waitlist via status checker. 171/3.8.
Assuming that this is some sort of YP and not some glaring mistake on my application, what should my next steps be? Minnesota is near the top of my list. Also, if I somehow get off the waitlist is there any chance for scholarship money or is that basically shot?

This is absolutely nuts... Especially with the last two posts, I feel like something weird is going on, or U of M has zero faith in it's program drawing strong applicants.

Just withdrew. Hopefully, it will help some of the other folks relegated to the WL.

Someone above suggested a LOCI and had some convincing reasoning that you might actually have a strong bargaining position with good numbers later on to get some scholarship money. I'm still deciding what I'm gonna do, but food for thought for ya.ugbadger wrote:Waitlist via status checker. 171/3.8.

Dude?
Why would you ever apply outside of T10. T6 for that matter. Maybe even T3.

AGREED. If you haven't already, make sure you've applied all over the place in T10. You will get in, with $$$ at great schoolsPinkCow wrote:sojasoph wrote:waitlisted![]()

In via voicemail!
167/3.39 when they first got my app but updated to 3.42 yesterday, so I'm not sure which GPA they considered.
Ditto on the scholarship question. None was mentioned in my voicemail. Is it mentioned in the phone call, in the acceptance packet, or in a subsequent letter?

I'm not even under review yet, but my GPA is nowhere near competitive with the others on here who are being WLed. From the sound of it, that might actually be a good thing...
What gives? Worth it to send them a letter asking them to...read my application? Submitted December 10.

But was it in your initial acceptance packet or was it a separate mailing?paulinaporizkova wrote:i had a voicemail because i missed the call and all the guy said was "you will receive a package estimating cost of attendance, etc. in a few weeks"..... then got scholly info in the mail several weeks laterkjadkins wrote:In via voicemail!

Sorry if my questions are getting nit-picky. Haha. I'm just antsy to know what to expect.

Re: Minnesota 2011
it was all in one package. i got a big envelope with i think 3 letters. one was an acceptance letter, one was a huge scholly congratulatory letter, one was a more generic letter about boring things that i can't think of off the top of my head.kjadkins wrote:But was it in your initial acceptance packet or was it a separate mailing?paulinaporizkova wrote:i had a voicemail because i missed the call and all the guy said was "you will receive a package estimating cost of attendance, etc. in a few weeks"..... then got scholly info in the mail several weeks laterkjadkins wrote:In via voicemail!

In with a voicemail as well. 169/3.48 completed 12/2.
Kinda surprised with all the WL I've been seeing and my lowerish GPA. Maybe my 5 years out of school really do mean something?

Does the package really take ~3 weeks to get there? Is it large?
