Congrats to all JR1s.
I have a feeling I'm a super borderline applicant and in this for a really long haul.

Congrats to those with JR1's today!
In the meantime, however, I'm over worrying about it.
+1. Having higher numbers than many people who got JR1's and having been UR for more than a month gives me a great sense of ambivalence toward H. Maybe S or Y will like us more.slax wrote:Fridays make me so sad.

5. Mojitos!

JR: I'm calling about your application to Harvard Law School.
Me: What is it?! (With baited breath)
JR: It's a bunch of buildings with future lawyers in them, but that's not important right now.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
So does JR definitely make all the acceptance calls himself?? Seems like he could make no more than 50-60 calls a day max.

Why is it called JR1, and what is a JR2?

Congrats in advance to all you lucky fellows. So for those who get in tomorrow---general tradition is to start a "In at Harvard" thread separate from the applicant thread. And good luck/congrats ahead of time.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
A JR1 is the phone interview that is conducted by Josh Rubenstein (JR himself), the admissions director as Harvard. Only 1000 to 1200 people who apply get the phone interview out of the 8000 or so that apply each year. HLS will email you saying when they plan on calling you.TheTallOne0602 wrote:Why is it called JR1, and what is a JR2?
A JR2 is the phone call they give you to let you know you are accepted.
This is essential knowledge to understand most of what is said on this thread.

Thanks for the vote of confidence for the rest of us, Knock.
I respectfully hope that your prediction is more narrow than reality.

How long after JR1, then, do you have to wait before you get a JR2 (assuming you get one)?penguin1234 wrote:A JR1 is the phone interview that is conducted by Josh Rubenstein (JR himself), the admissions director as Harvard. No sweating for me man.. Im still in my last semester undergrad and have a ridiculously busy week ahead of me including my first final. Plus, just waking up and looking at my yellow(or should I say maize?) Michigan Law portfolio will keep me from getting too depressed about a lengthy Harvard decision for a while.Magnifique1908 wrote:You too lol. Sorry, I just felt that you rambled a little too much on your JR1. And your answer to question #3 was a tad bit ridiculous!Calla Lily wrote:Thanks for the vote of confidence, Knock.I respectfully hope that your prediction is more narrow than reality.

Good decision to have. Almost went there in 2009. Not even applying this year, weird....awesome school though.tkgrrett wrote:No sweating for me man.. Yeah, I tend not to stress as much as others either. It makes things too difficult lol.
Good luck on that final!

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
For as often as I check this thread (2-3 times daily...sad I know) I realized that I don't post too much. I did, however, want to pop in and wish everyone good luck in the coming days. I had my JR1 a few weeks back and I know having that JR2 before Thursday would make Turkey Day a little more special. Best of luck to everyone!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
