In everyones best guess what do you think the bottom number will be for those accepted at UF?

how do you calculate the index? and what is it?

It's in your report for a given school after you submit your app, but since they round to the nearest tenth, it's not as useful in borderline cases. You can plug your numbers in at Law School Predictor and it's in one of the columns. It's a metric that rolls GPA and LSAT into a single number.

I was going to call the law school about this; however, I thought I should ask here before I bother them. Does anyone know if the admissions officers will continue to let people know throughout the winter break or will they take off during the holiday season and resume work next semester?

And if someone else wants to call about this, feel free!

^^^ I think the last day of exams at UF is December 18th? So there is potentially a lot of time (well, some time) for decisions to go out. I bet they will just close shop and resume in January after December 17th. Maybe earlier?

This is probably a really silly question but...does anyone know if it is required to turn in grades from this semester to lsac, provided we haven't heard from our schools or is it kind of an optional deal? I'm planning on doing mine either way but a friend was asking and I did not know the answer so I thought I'd turn it over to the masterminds at TLS.

I'm not. They will get my final transcripts if I matriculate, so I don't see the point in updating everything. If you haven't heard back from them... and it will make your GPA better, then definitly. If it will lower it, maybe not unless they ask.

just to make sure it wasn't somewhat low, and thus less likely to be granted a decision in the next batch

Thanks Barbie, I really appreciate that. I REALLY hope you're right. Given all of the time you have spent looking over the previous UF threads/calculating index numbers, I am actually reassured by you saying that ha ha.

It's pretty much a hold until they decide whats going on with your app

TBH, I got my letter less than 2 days after mine switched from Pending to In Transit. I wonder how long they then knew/sent the letter before they switched it.

My status changed to "Review complete, final decision pending". I have no idea what it means but hopefully I will know soon
