When were the complete dates for the people who got decisions today? I'd guess that a lot were from the December group...
Sent 1/21, Complete 1/25 and acceptance via email yesterday. Very excited! Congrats to everyone who got accepted and good luck for all the cool people still waiting (yes, you are all cool, I have been stalking

)

Hey, so I started reading the financial aid page and got a little worried. Has anyone ever heard (in general or in regards to Columbia) of someone simply not receiving all the loans they need for law school? or is the money always there one way or another? thanks

Got my rejection envelope in the mail postmarked 2/9 this morning, I was an auto-ding applied due to the fee waiver.
Good luck to all still waiting!

Has anyone who went complete in January been held, reserved or rejected?

Everyone is eligible for GradPlus loans, which will cover up to the full cost of tuition (about 72,000), minus what you get in grants, scholarships, and other loans (e.g. Stafford, Pell).

There is no Pell for grad students. And not everyone is eligible for GradPLUS, you need good credit or a cosigner with good credit. You can also get your COA/budget adjusted if you have a good reason so some people may be eligibile for higher amounts.

hey philly, thanks for the info, do you know how hard core the credit thing is. I have a few bumps from 5 years ago and a perfect record since. I still have trouble getting credit cards but do you think GradPlus is more or less stringent?

You should ask the financial aid office. The only thing I have ever read states you can't have bankruptcies and foreclosures - big stuff - within 5 years. You should be fine but check with the office.
ETA: it isn't based on the score, so having no/short credit won't hurt you like it would getting credit cards and consumer loans.

Thanks philly! That makes me feel a lot better about having a short credit history.

Haha every single day I wake up and think that I'll be hearing from CLS. And then someone else or multiple people in the forgotten pile post their decision, and I still have crickets. It's been "soon" for like 3 weeks now. But I'm still going to bask in my foolish naivete and agree with you that we will indeed be hearing soon.

Well, there was sort of a lull between the holds and yesterday. With the emails, who knows what might happen. (Maybe nothing! yay!)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
