Yup, was going to post this. That box is now gone. I bet its because of the confusion it causes - how many calls do you think they got?bjf wrote:Thanks, RedSox.
I actually logged in again and now the box is gone. Maybe they are getting ready for another wave of acceptances, waitlists, etc today.
Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

That damn box completely ruined my life, I'm banking hard on RU cuz I can't afford any where else and I live 15 minutes away, I was actually considering Florida Coastal (yuck) cuz they sent me an email offering me 10k a year just based on my LSAT, please RU don't let me down.....

LOL, I'm sure it was a decent amount of calls for them to remove it. I just really hope I get good news. I was so bummed out yesterday thinking I was waitlisted.

Shit. I have the same thing.
I had the same thing yesterday, but now it's not there. What does that mean?

Re: Rutgers Newark
I ended up going today as well (took off work for reason below). I was the girl in the purple-ish top who was late. If you're wondering why I was twitchy and seemed "out of it", my dad is the in the hospital and my mom called part way through the tour, so I was a little freaked since she she said she would only call if there was an emergency (wasn't an emergency, thank god).wizoz wrote:Mornin' every1....any1 know how much is the seat deposit?
I'm heading to Rutgers today for the building tour and would like to also secure my seat while I'm out there. I know the form came in my packet and I had it in an envelope on my kitchen counter but then my husband moved everything around and now I can't find it. Sigh.

The deposit is $300 bucks. If you're writing a check, it's for Rutgers University.

@ Keg411
Oh man, sorry to hear about your dad. I wish you and your family well.
Also, I don't remember the shirts ppl were wearing but I do remember shoes. I know someone was wearing awesome leopard printed flats. I also recall seeing 2 blondes. One was near the window and sitting with her mom I think so she can't be you. The other was seated btwn 2 brunettes. Which was you?
I also remember someone coming with their boyfriend late. Was that you?
I was standing next to the brunette with the leopard shoes and wearing pink pants. I was asking those questions about the MSP.

Re: Rutgers Newark
Ya'll...Rutgers is so nice. The law review is having some event today and so I got to meet a bunch of students. The tour guide (she was a 1L MSP) took me around after everyone left and introduced me to a bunch of 1L's, 2L's, and 3L's. I learned a lot and got a good sense of the culture.
I was surprised at how small the school is. While there are prolly like 4 or 5 floors, the tour guide basically mentioned that we all go to class on that like basement level so that was surprising. I had a really great time. There's another tour coming up. I think it's next week. I highly recommend that you go on a tour if you haven't done so already. It was really nice to get all my questions answered.
I also stopped by the admissions office to say hi and drop off my deposit. They are lovely people. Go say hi!

What are peoples thoughts on Rutgers-Newark vs Brooklyn? I've been accepted to both, and the cost would be pretty much the same.

Wizoz, was your tour guide Marisa Carey '11? I met her during the Admitted Students Day and well she was very nice and approachable. She gave me lots of insights into MSP.

Depends...are you in-state/out state NJ? If you got scholarships, what's the stipulation? Did you get into any special programs like MSP? What are you looking to do post grad? Where do you want to work and where would you prefer to live during law school?jdjd2013 wrote:What are peoples thoughts on Rutgers-Newark vs Brooklyn? In-state NJ. Scholarships at both. Rutgers would be cheaper bc of in-state tuition, I'm curious about people's opinions of the schools regardless of cost. Brooklyn scholarship is renewed if Im in top 40% of the class. No special programs. Undecided about post-grad career, but getting a job at a biglaw firm isn't that important to me. Would be happy working in either NJ or NY, and I would also be happy living in either place during law school. My family is from NJ which is a plus, but the Brooklyn neighborhood is awesome.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
