No, I'm FT.sk08 wrote:were you also PT? Someone at the financial aid office said they don't negotiate, but I'm sending in a letter regardless.
Did any other FT people get the scholarship? If so, did you get the same amount?

Just title the subject: Letter of Continued Interest.
You're putting way too much thought into it Ballerina.

Have you tried negotiating yet? How'd it go? Who did you speak with (the financial aid office or Akira Shiroma directly)? Thanks!sk08 wrote:I'm going to try to negotiate with them because I have a substantial scholarship at another, comparable school ( I know AU is stingy, but I have to try).

Mr. Joshlyman,
I have no idea what the chances of getting off the waitlist are. I am also on it and I am really hoping I get accepted from it. American is my top choice and I would love to go there.
I would just wait and send in a LOCI every now and then. I've also been begging people to withdraw if they arent going to attend. The more people that withdraw, admits or waitlists, the greater the chances that people like you and me are accepted off the waitlist.
Im vying for a spot too, but good luck. keep us updated.

Re: American U
I went to an alumni/admitted student's reception sponsored by WCL, it was very good and gave me some very very useful information. The alumni were very positive about the school and their experience, and Dean Grossman gave a very compelling speech that highlighted AU's status as an international draw for those wanting to study law. He described the breadth of opportunities available to WCL students in school as well as out of school, and spoke positively about the faculty at the school and their extensive amount of practical experience, as opposed to just being academics.
Oh, and a lot of the alumni and current students compared WCL students to their Georgetown counterparts and stated that a lot of the GULC students were not happy at GULC and that they envied the opportunties available to the WCL law students. THis sentiment was echoed and unsolicited from several people throughout the night.
I am still not 100% sold on it, but I was very impressed with the alumni and the WCL staff. The event was very nice and well-organized, and very professional. I am really looking forward to the ASD now... HTH!
As far as the financial aid information- my packet just told me that I would know before the seat deposit is due provided I had my FAFSA in.

We have very similar profiles. I was wondering what the turn around time between applying and your WL email was. Thanks!smartin wrote:Waitlisted by e-mail today.

Decision made 3/1. Still nothing in mail, looking like a rejection at this point. Was a stretch, but was hopeful.

Official rejection letter today. Oh well, good luck to everyone else on their cycle. One less status tracker to check though on the bright side.

After a lot of thought, I don't believe American is worth paying the full cost of tuition. I sent in my withdrawal earlier today. Good luck to those of you still waiting.

Re: American U
Just got the email saying I am not a PIPS recipient.
It was obviously a semi-long shot with my numbers, but without it I will be withdrawing.
Hopefully it enables someone to take my spot!
