Just got my acceptance via e-mail today. $40k a year. Fuck. I'm kind of in shock. Just when I was getting used to the idea of staying in-state at a discount...

I'm also feeling that we applied to the same places --- maybe we'll end up seeing each other around one of these campuses in a few months..

In with $25,000 x 3yrs. With the GI Bill I should be golden. My numbers are 2.98/175 and I submitted in mid november, went complete in early Dec, for those who are tracking this stuff.
Dean Pless, Thanks for accepting me and thanks for posting here. I checked my email as soon as I woke up. I wish every school was as open and organized about how they admit people.

No kidding. Thanks, man. I keep re-reading the e-mail to make sure somebody didn't miss a decimal place or something. From the scholarship numbers I had scoped out elsewhere, UIUC was one of the schools I least expected big money from, much less full tuition.Veritas wrote:whoa! that's a shit load of monies! congratstinsleyc1 wrote:Just got my acceptance via e-mail today. $40k a year. Haha, I would have too, had I known a dean from UIUC was actively posting in this thread. Oops. Make no mistake, I'm very excited about this opportunity.Sauer Grapes wrote:Congrats man! Call me old fashioned, but I would have announced things a little differently knowing a dean from UIUC was actively posting in this thread. Not picking on you at all, but I find using vulgarities in front of superiors should be at a minimum. Hows the campus golf course? Any good courses in the surrounding area?
Yes, questions like this actually do matter to me.

Campus golf course is pretty nice considering we are in Illinois (aka flatsville). Nonetheless, its conveniently located next to the University airport so you can always catch a plane to hawaii for a round

As far as courses other courses: --LinkRemoved--
Some of them are pretty nice, not much of a drive to get any of them either.

good luck! I think I'm going in review in the batch after this one, and I'm already nervous. Can't imagine how people in this batch feel.

Re: Illinois 2010!
Yeah, I finally got the waitlist email. Kind of discouraging since LSP lists Illinois as an "admit" for me. Well, now the real waiting starts!horriblegb wrote:fenderjsm88 wrote:What does "on hold for second review" mean? Waitlist?
That is what my status checker says, but I also received an email informing me I was on the waitlist, so I believe that is what it means.

Re: Illinois 2010!
+1 I don't love my chances of admission by any means, and honestly I think I would consider myself lucky to even get a waitlist offer, but hopefully Dean Pless feels the Illini love and surprises mejaskat wrote:good luck!
