I don't believe fee waivers have anything to do with actual admissions. I believe UT (and most other schools) give fee waivers to everyone that has a fee waiver from LSAC. I would say no based on the fee waiver thing. Wouldn't presume to day yay or nay on admissions. I'm all about applying and crossing your fingers. Heck it's free anyway. Actually, UT is one of the few schools that doesn't automatically honor the LSAC waiver. Only others I know of are Yale and Stanford.princepointe wrote:I don't believe fee waivers have anything to do with actual admissions. Can someone explain to me the tuition numbers at UT? First year tuition is listed at 43K and then continuing student as 36K. So do all 2L and 3L students pay the 36K for the 2L and 3L years, making total 3 year tuition 115K?

Re: IN AT TEXAS!!!!!!! CLASS OF 2013!!
Someone earlier mentioned that this was probably designed to shelter 2L/3Ls from the tuition increase. I would assume 43k over 3 yearsgitls wrote:Can someone explain to me the tuition numbers at UT? Re: IN AT TEXAS!!!!!!! CLASS OF 2013!!
How did the people admitted receive information about scholarships from UT, mail or e-mail? I got the admitted phone call a day or two before Thanksgiving but haven't heard anything about scholarship information. I thought they said I'd hear about that like 10-12 days after being admitted but I still haven't gotten anything.

Uber jealous. Congrats!Kiersten1985 wrote:I don't want to seem braggy but I'm just SO EXCITED! $69,000 scholarship!!!
On another note: anyone else find the admissions staff to be really nice? I had some contact with them, and they were extraordinarily punctual with replies and courteous to boot.

The UT admissions office likes hearing from students. Send a LOCI in if you're actually interested in attending.

Yeah OOS.
I'll definitely send along a LOCI to Texas as my SO got around 75k there and we were thinking of going there as a cheaper option. I'm guessing I should explain my interest and my low GPA?

It's not that low. A lot of 3.6 In-state people were accepted. Your lsat should be enough (rancid speculation on my part) to offset a median-ish GPA. Articulate your interest in the school, the city/state (if this is true), and your likely intention to attend if accepted.

Just withdrew my application after being granted admission on 10/28. Hope it helps one of you out in the future.
FYI - I was out-of-state so it should free up another one of those spots. It should also free up an extra $69,000 in scholarship aid, which is the award I received from UT.

I hope this offers some inspiration to those fellow reverse splitters (and others too!).
I was accepted in early November via phone call from one of the deans with:
164/3.97.
UT was a dream choice and I cannot believe I am in!
For those of you who haven't heard- there is definitely hope and I wish you the best of luck! The waiting game definitely sucks (i.e. Berkeley, Cornell, USC & UCLA who are just prolonging dinging me!).
