Are you local or coming in from out of town? I went to undergrad at Santa Clara and don't live too far from the school.littlepiggie818 wrote:I am!valley splitter wrote:anyone going to the Admitted Student Preview Day this Saturday?

I am driving from LA and staying at the Hilton close to Great America. It is cheaper than the place that Santa Clara emailed about. It must be nice to live so close to Santa Clara.valley splitter wrote:Are you local or coming in from out of town? Well, the Hilton at Great America is about five minutes from school. There are some benefits to living nearby, except my parents think I should stay at one of their houses or my aunt's for the first year in order to "avoid unnnecessary costs" and get used to the learning curve. According to them I have to relearn how to learn.

Hah! My parents said the same thing since I have been out of school for almost 5 years now. If you can save money on rent I am sure it wouldn't be too bad to stay at a relative's house. Would you still have privacy?valley splitter wrote:Well, the Hilton at Great America is about five minutes from school. Re: In at Santa Clara!!
Yeah I'd have my old rooms at either of my parents' houses and my own room should I choose to live at my aunt's house. All are generally very quiet as no one is ever home, but in terms of "privacy" it gets a little weird. I have "privacy" in the sense that I have my own room, study, and bathroom. I wouldn't have "privacy" in terms of bringing someone home for the night. Of course I've done it before, at all three houses, but it gets weird in the morning. Would rather avoid that and have my own place.littlepiggie818 wrote:Hah! My parents said the same thing since I have been out of school for almost 5 years now. What are the different stages for the online status checker?
I'm "In Committee." Do I have a long way to go?

Anyone get in with a 155 with a above 75th percentile GPA (not URM)?

I did, but my 2nd lsat score made it irrelevant.km23 wrote:I did. I was deferred from early action to regular admissions and have been in 2nd Review since 1/05/2010JDO wrote:Did any of you apply throught the Special Admissions Policy?![]()

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
From my minimal google-ing it seems the 2nd review is a glorified hold from santa clara. I'm guessing those of us, myself included, who are under second review are being held until after the first seat deposits are due. After the first seat deposit date, we will be informed of our actual status (please at least give me a PT offer Santa Clara
).

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
Thanks a ton, I hope everyone who isn't seriously considering Santa Clara, or any other law school for that matter, withdraws when they make such determination. I know a lot of people applied to Santa Clara thinking of scholarship negotiation or a safety, but those of us with sub-par LSAT and GPA could benefit based upon their withdrawals.Sean1269 wrote:I am going to withdraw with a 12K scholarship, hopefully that frees up some $ others and helps the waitlist, do i just call them and tell them I'm not coming?

edit - I'd just e-mail them to withdraw... seems easiest for all involved.
