Re: Cornell waiting room
Are we really expecting any of the 11/20 or 11/24 DR's to be acceptances? I would love to be optimistic about this, but it's a little rough with the decisions people have been getting back so far.Veritas wrote:Monday will be telling!

Deferred. I literally cried when I got the letter. My boyfriend started pouring me a glass of wine immediately, looking quite alarmed.

Yes - but so far 100% deferreds is not sounding too promising.Veritas wrote:I have hope until I get my letter.Helmholtz wrote:Are we really expecting any of the 11/20 or 11/24 DR's to be acceptances? Nope. I mean, they had to give me a decision by the 15th, right? They won't get my score by then.Veritas wrote:they didn't wait for the retake!??Pearalegal wrote:Deferred. I literally cried when I got the letter. My boyfriend started pouring me a glass of wine immediately, looking quite alarmed.
*sigh*
Its ok. I'm actually really, really bummed but thats ok. So this means I won't get considered again until after February 1st? They say they email them and send in any new information before then.

Re: Cornell waiting room
Or it's just possible that the 11/20 and 11/24 decisions are a mix of deferrals and acceptances, but the deferrals all went out in an earlier batch of mail? I don't know, at this point it's just guessing.ruleser wrote:Yes - but so far 100% deferreds is not sounding too promising.Veritas wrote:I have hope until I get my letter.Helmholtz wrote:Are we really expecting any of the 11/20 or 11/24 DR's to be acceptances? Would acceptances take longer because of larger envelopes!?!??!?!Helmholtz wrote:

jk
But avocado is in DC and has yet to receive a decision, which seems kind of random since people all over the East appear to be hearing.

edit: Oh, I see on LSN a CA person who was deferred from the 11/24 bunch. I wonder if they are in CA now, though.

Re: Cornell waiting room
Thanks! Hey, its not a deny, right? Sort of a bummer...it seems like everyone is waiting to tell me if they like me or not. This has happened several times. A few admissions offices have told me point blank its their policy to wait but, *sigh.* I haven't even heard back from a lot of my safeties while people with lower numbers are getting in all over the place. I love William and Mary for telling me whats up. Love them.krispykitten wrote:I'm so sorryHelmholtz wrote:Shit, sorry to hear that, Pear.Pearalegal wrote:Deferred. Re: Cornell waiting room
I think the accepts could take longer, if they are large envelopes/packages instead of just regular mail - and from the numbers we've seen who went dr 11/24, I'd expect at least some accepts. Still, with the numbers we just saw, splitter hatred is not boding well for my type...Veritas wrote:Would acceptances take longer because of larger envelopes!?!??!?!Helmholtz wrote:

Why would these be deffered at Cornell? Especially the second one. Numbers above 75th. Maybe something with the application.

The first person got into CLS, so I doubt there was anything wrong with her app. Maybe they didn't think she'd attend, deferred her, but she wrote a convincing LOCI.swc65 wrote:Accepted

Re: Cornell waiting room
Who knows? This is such a confusing process. I hate being in the dark all of the time. I wish they could just be a little more transparent. I mean, why do they put on the website "decision" but not say what it is? Seems stupid.Helmholtz wrote:The first person got into CLS, so I doubt there was anything wrong with her app. Maybe they didn't think she'd attend, deferred her, but she wrote a convincing LOCI.swc65 wrote:Accepted
