Re: WUSTL C/O 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
Just submitted Thursday night and got an interview request today. Good sign?
Does everyone get interview requests or is it kind of just a formality you get in if you get one and don't mess up?
EDIT: oh should've checked the OP before popping my head in.

I started scholarship negotiations this morning by submitting other schools scholarships, how long does WUSTL usually take to reply with a new offer or decline a new offer?

I did a button up and a sports coat, but I'm sure you'll be fine as long as it's not a tank top or something.charles117 wrote:also for the interviews did you guys wear just like a business casual/button up shirt for the video interview or a full suit? do you think it matters?

So... I emailed them about how time had passed about my ED decision, they apologized and said I would have a decision this week. Status checker date now changed to this upcoming Friday. How do I interpret this.... I have people with my stats already accepted on LSN but it's on the low end of the graph for sure.

You'll definitely want to have a credible answer for Why WashU. Even if it's just talking about some clinics or an externship they have that interests you, how beautiful the campus is, etc.charles117 wrote:Also for the interview did you guys have a good answer for why washu and why st louis? Why STL isn't as important from what I can tell. I was pretty upfront I'd never been there and didn't know much about it. Just that City Museum seemed cool and I'd like to catch a game at Busch Stadium.

My status checker changed to 12/14 and then I got the acceptance email on 12/15. So that is probably the date you will get a decision.shotgunheist wrote:So... Haha, I didn't realize it was the same person. Whoops. Anyway, you should be getting a decision soon! When i was scheduling it said 20 minutes. I hope it's not much longer than that, since I have to get to work afterwards and I don't have a ton of extra time beyond that 20 in order to get to work on time.charles117 wrote:also how long do the interviews usually last? 20 min? an hour?

Mine was 13 minutes. I think 20 is the soft maximum.njdevils327 wrote:When i was scheduling it said 20 minutes. did they seem to have read your application beforehand or do they just ask questions from a list?jza1994 wrote:Mine was 13 minutes. They seemed to have read my application pretty thoroughly. I was asked about my personal statement and then some parts of my resume.charles117 wrote:did they seem to have read your application beforehand or do they just ask questions from a list?jza1994 wrote:Mine was 13 minutes. They absolutely have read it; multiple other posters can attest to that, but for my own anecdote, she wished me an early happy birthday, asked specific questions from my resume, and wanted to chat about my PS. It was all quite informal and very conversational, but she had done her homework (Mary Ann Clifford).
Good luck!

Re: WUSTL C/O 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
Just completed my interview today. Mine was 20 minutes on the dot, and only that long by my choice to ramble on about a few things. I think my rambling cut off of a few the basic questions they ask (I was able to sneakily semi-dodge the why law question). Very relaxed and conversational, by far the best interview I've had with a law school yet. Asked about where I'm from, why I went to my UG and what I liked about it, and how those things translate into me wanting to attend WUSTL. They actually weren't aware that I had already graduated, so I got to clear that up. Also got to drop that I have applied for a few fairly high end internships. Got a welcomed sales pitch on the school. Interviewer said that she would forward the interview results to the adcomms and that on the hush hush I was likely in and didn't need to worry. I got asked a question that the interviewer seemed to read off, which was what I felt would be the hardest part about law school (might be a new required question to add to OP). Overall, very relaxed and pleasant experience compared to the automated interviews and getting grilled by a few schoolsnjdevils327 wrote:When i was scheduling it said 20 minutes.
