Applied in September, GPA tiny bit < 25th and LSAT>>>75th.
UR2 12/2 and then radio silence =/

I mean, they do have a small class size. I guess they are being very selective.

One of my interviewers at a different school mentioned that they got dinged at a few schools bellow the school they actually attended. He said it has a lot to do with geography and the timing of your application. Say you live in San Francisco, if they already accepted a bunch of people from San Francisco, then they are going to look elsewhere for more possible students in order to diversify and gain students from all over. It's not necessarily that your numbers out of line for the school. I don't know if this is entirely true or comforting, but I think it would explain your situation a bit.

I also think Cornell's small class size means that they just aren't going to accept everyone based on numbers alone. I think this happens every year from what I've seen on TLS.

Anyone know what the employment prospects are like in Ithaca/around Ithaca for corporate work? I'm married, so when choosing a law school I need to take into account if my husband will find a job

To be more specific, he has worked the past 2.5 years at United Health Group and is starting a new position at Thrivent Financial on Monday. He does corporate innovation stuff and could really work in any kind of business that needs innovating lol.

I mean I was also accepted with a decent scholly last cycle and didn't go, so that might also be why.

I gave a small explanation in the email I sent when I withdrew my app last cycle.

That's crazy- I don't get why schools would YP, if you apply you're obviously interested! Maybe send in a LOCI?

It'd be hard for my WL to be a geographical thing... eh, I'm retaking the LSAT in February so not my biggest concern in the world.
Are you from San Diego/So Cal?

I got a fee waiver and keep getting emails from Cornell--is it worth it for me to apply? I have a 159 LSAT and 3.5 GPA so I didn't think there was any point but if anyone could give me direction, that would be great! Mainly I'm wondering if they just do this for everyone or what is happening because I'm confused.

I haven't heard about a situation like that but I mean if it's free, not much harm in applying... although unless you're URM or have some incredible soft, I wouldn't get your hopes up with those numbers :/ if you want Cornell, I'd study for a retake.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
