Culver City would be a good option for between USC and UCLA. It's relatively cheap, there's a solid art, food, and bar scene. Also it's pretty young and on the up and up.sjp200 wrote:Hit with the waitlist last night. Disappointed me because it happened the same day I got into USC, but I may look for an apartment between both of them to try keep the UCLA option available. Being from the east coast, it'd be hard for me to accept a WL offer too late in the cycle

UCLA doesn't have a status checker, right? Would they have just e-mailed me when I went complete? I don't recall to be quite honest.

They have a status checker, yeah, they just don't display a decision there. No worries though. Sometime I feel like knowing other peoples' timelines does more harm to my psyche than good!alvmew wrote:Thanks!capricasixx wrote:Congratulations! My professor has to teach a mock class to the incoming students. Thanks for giving me the day off, guys.

For those who received merit and need based aid, can you share how far apart the offers were? Trying to pass the time by figuring out a method to UCLA's madness...

I got merit only, and when I emailed, I was informed in a reply I wouldn't get any need-based. Not entirely unexpected.Lextor wrote:For those who received merit and need based aid, can you share how far apart the offers were? Trying to pass the time by figuring out a method to UCLA's madness...

0 in merit based
Do you guys think a 120k offer from USC would make UCLA increase their offer??

No, not really. That's almost half tuition for them and since they negotiate, that's a very generous starting point.proteinshake wrote:above both medians and got 75k. ugh. should I have expected more??
