Congrats! Definitely use the practice sessions Kira Talent gives you. Really helped in getting used to how it worked/the tempo the interview would take. I'd do at least two immediately before interviewing as a warmup.slizerd wrote:Finally an interview request!! Yyeeessssss

It's a little weird not to be talking to another person, but definitely do the practice questions at least a few times because that will give you a good idea of what the actual process is like and also what types of questions they ask. For the most part, the questions seemed a little bit unusual compared to other interviews I've had this cycle but definitely nothing that was totally off the wall. Also the period to answer is usually very short (think all of mine were less than a minute) so just know that you won't have a lot of time to say everything that you want to probably.slizerd wrote:Finally an interview request!! Just got an interview as well. Applied 12/7, I think I went UR on 12/14 (???). Do people suit up for these? I'll most likely do this at my house so not sure what the dress code should be. Might pull a dress shirt, jacket, and boxers combo.

Got the call that I'm in! It was a nice surprise, as I felt I didn't do very well on my interview. Best of luck to those still waiting. Stay hopeful

Are most people getting calls go back to UR after "Interview Requested" on their status checkers?

When I got the call I was still at Interview Requested and I flipped back to UR the following week. After a few days I think it updates to the "Congrats, you are admitted message" and updates with new requirements at the bottomgamerish wrote:Are most people getting calls go back to UR after "Interview Requested" on their status checkers?

Mine did not go back to review until shortly before or after I received the call. Still said interview requested as of last night when I checked.gamerish wrote:Are most people getting calls go back to UR after "Interview Requested" on their status checkers?

Thanks! Almost 4 weeks between interview and acceptance (the wait is partially what made me nervous).Dexter97 wrote:Congrats!!! The date changed when it went back to review. Prior to that, it was the date indicating admissions had received my interview (I think?)polinter wrote:Did you have a date change?coffee247 wrote:Mine did not go back to review until shortly before or after I received the call. I wouldn't necessarily expect that wait for you though. Mine may have been extended due to the holiday break.Dexter97 wrote:Ahh ok thanks!coffee247 wrote:Thanks! Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm an undergrad here at Cornell. I've spent 3 years in Ithaca, countless hours at Myron Taylor Hall, and live in a predominantly law student occupied building. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about Ithaca, campus culture, the Law School etc.
Here is some info for anyone considering coming here:
Location (On Campus): The Law School is small. Very small. It occupies some prime real estate as it is positioned directly across from Collegetown, but it is comparatively small compared to the rest of campus. You'll spend most of your time in the quadrant that the Law School occupies, rarely venturing past Olin. I've seen a few law students walking around the Arts Quad, but there is really no reason to do so. This is fairly analogous to your time here. Law students generally socialize together, save a few evening spent at Dunbars with other grad students (R.I.P. It actually closed this month, further limiting your bar options).
Location (General surroundings): I wish I could give you a final statement on the city of Ithaca, closing the debate on the merits of the town for once, but people's opinions on Ithaca vary widely. Personally, I hate it, but many love it. It's a small town that's, largely, politically and culturally homogeneous. The city's policies are generally determined by legislators that don't consider the interests of students because we are largely transient and aren't eligible to vote in local elections. This means that the city's zoning policy's restrict businesses that would be of interest to those in our age demographic. We still don't have a grocery store in Collegetown (it's coming soon, though), which means you have to drive downtown to get food, or take a bus an hour each way to Wegmans/Walmart. There's a few bars in CTown and downtown, a movie theater, "nature," and then a ton of overpriced, organic restaurants. That's it. I lived in a city of millions of people before coming to Cornell, so if you come from a smaller town or lived in one place your entire life, you can just ignore everything I've said because you'll probably like it here. That said, there are many kids from NYC who love Ithaca. It generally depends on what your interest are. If you enjoy a faster pace of life and like to hang around and date people outside of academia, then Ithaca will be rough. If you want to enjoy a "traditional" student experience, with your life and activities generally revolving around school and enjoy nature, hiking, the outdoors etc., then you'll love Ithaca.
I'd be happy to write more about housing, the campus culture, how to get around etc. or answer any questions if you have any interest.

I interviewed last week and my status still says interview requested. Should I call and make sure they received it? I had to use my iPad since I was traveling for the holidays, so it was a little janky.
