So what is the plan for tomorrow night? Don't want to be wandering around downtown all by my lonesome.

Meet up at foothill brewery downtown at 8/830ish and than go from there. My hotel is like a block away so I'll make a post when I check in.sunnyd101 wrote:So what is the plan for tomorrow night? Don't want to be wandering around downtown all by my lonesome.

Same here. Really hoping to hear something by Friday. Had you been under review before or submitted a video interview?lawprincess wrote:Under committee review as of yesterday. Anyone else in the same boat? Here's to hoping that I get some good news come Friday.

Under review for a little over a week but no interview.. Hopefully that doesn't mean bad news is on the way. Getting anxious/nervous.zippernicus wrote:Same here. Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Just so everyone is aware, there will be another ASD on April 11th. The one for Friday is full.
As far as the unemployment stats go, we have all heard the warnings, so you know there is a chance you can be one of those people. The way I look at it is, at least a good portion of those people are probably at the bottom of the class, so do not be in the bottom. I mean, you cannot control the job market, and no school is going to guarantee that you get a job, not even going to a T-14. Granted your chances are better, and in some cases a lot better, but there are so many other reasons to choose a law school than "will I get a job?". I know that is extremely important, but what happened to wanting to go to law school to be a lawyer and the thought of "where can I go that will best prepare me and give me the best legal education?" We are all so scared of what happens after law school, that we are losing focus on what's important, the legal education itself. Ultimately, with the way things are right now, there is one thing you can control and that is yourself. If you work hard, get involved, and be someone that employers want to employ, it may not guarantee you will get a job, but at the very least, it will increase your chances.

I don't think thats bad news at all, lots of people appear to have been accepted without one. I've been under review, under committee, asked to submit a video, back under review, and now back under committee. Argh! I can definitely say I've been through a stressful wait with this app. Hope we both get good news sooooon!lawprincess wrote:

Not sure I'll be in by then but I'll post if I do make it in town. So obviously we don't all look like our profile pics. I'll be the one looking incredibly awkward. And I am a girl. Are you guys in the FB group? Maybe that would be an easier way of identifying each other.cricketlove00 wrote:I'll hopefully be there. I haven't gone to one of these yet but that sounds too formal to me. I was thinking relatively casual. Maybe a polo and some pants. No jeans. I could be wrong though. Anyone care to enlighten us?

I don't think a tie is too formal. For guys, I would say dress slacks and a tie. You can probably get away with nice pants and a golf shirt/polo shirt (is that what they call them?). As a girl, I am either wearing a dress or a skirt and nice blouse. I think a full on suit or suit jacket is too formal. Definitely no jeans or t-shirts. Remember, always better to be over dressed than under.

From the ASW I have been to, I think a tie is too formal. I really don't think it matters, as long as you're not in sweats or torn jeans.legalbeagle84 wrote:[I don't think a tie is too formal. When I went I just wore jeans and an xmen t-shirt. I think people were judging me though. I didn't know it was going to be so formal and I didn't do any research.

I'm going to two more ASDs at two other schools. I will dress more appropriately this time. I recommend everyone do the same, unless you like people glaring like this

Last ASW I went to had everything from suits to t-shirt and jeans. We were instructed to dress business casual, but as long as you don't look terrible you'll be fine.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
