For those of you trying to get in touch with HLS: I've had a very good experience using the
1L2B@law.harvard.edu email address.

Anyone else having problems creating a PIN with their UID? I go through the process but at the end of it, it says I have to physically pick up a letter from an office instead of it being emailed.

I don't know what any of this means...
Where do we get said PIN and UID?

If you haven't already, you should get your HUID sent to your Harvard email shortly. There are instructions on how to set up your PIN.

I'm just trying to get through my FA docs. These credentials are the ones needed to access the online documents right?

OK. I just submitted to create a PIN and it told me to go in person... I guess I'll email / call them to get it over the phone?
Update - I'm in the northeast and did not receive my snail mail packet yet.

In terms of the financial aid website you can apply for aid simply by putting in your harvard email address and then clicking first time user. You will then be prompted to a menu that allows you to create your own pin for the purposes of logging onto the myHLS financial aid portal.

I called ID services and they said they can't issue pins over the phone. However, you can email
id_services@harvard.edu and let them know of the situation and they can send it via email. Hopefully they don't take too long to respond. And yea, Harvard just has too many steps.

No. the same username and password that you have to access your harvard email, is the same username and password you need to access those secure financial aid web forms

So I've done this. I'm now in the process of getting my documentation together. The online forms at
http://www.law.harvard.edu/current/sfs/forms/index.html requires authentication. Unfortunately the 2 credentials I currently have don't seem to work, so I'm thinking I need my HUID credentials here. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This has to be the most bizarrely confusing online system I've ever seen. Or maybe I'm just not Harvard material.

LOL. I've been building systems like these professionally for the better part of 5 years. This is definitely not the most intuitive system out there. Maybe there's a business opportunity here in addition to attending the LS

Do not belong at Harvard, Fin Aid is too overwhelming. Tried to decipher your posts but was still lost. How did you guys get your PIN without going in person?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
