That just reminds me of those kids who would get really, really dressed up for class photos and end up sticking out like a sore thumb. Looking forward to seeing a couple of people in suits.JenDarby wrote:Some people dressed up for orientation, it was awkward. I went UR on the 18th, and today they updated the date. Does that mean I will be getting an answer soon?

I'm sorry, I should have said "complete" instead. I applied to so many schools I get all mixed up

Got the scholarship email today after Friday acceptance. 15K per year, still way too much debt.

FWIW, I already tried negotiating and was denied. Might try again later in the cycle, but I'm not going with only a 10k/yr scholly.HankBeech wrote:Got the scholarship email today after Friday acceptance. 15K per year, still way too much debt.

Can somebody here please give me a realistic coa figure for someone going at sticker but not having to pay for living expenses (rent, food, utilities, and other essentials).

One thing I ask you guys to remember about Fordham is that they don't stipulate their scholarships. So many other schools require you to maintain a certain rank to keep it, but Fordham lets you have the money, guaranteed.
And freaknroll, I'm pretty sure that info is on their website.

Would 50K/year be an accurate amount in your experience?Gemini wrote:One thing I ask you guys to remember about Fordham is that they don't stipulate their scholarships. So many other schools require you to maintain a certain rank to keep it, but Fordham lets you have the money, guaranteed.

Discounting room and board, I would say somewhere around 55k.

For the most part the figures are pretty accurate. There's definitely a lot of room to cut down on costs but don't forget, the cost of living in NYC is pretty damn high.freaknroll wrote: Thanks, I always wonder how truly accurate those figures are.

Very true. Btw, your giants better not fail me, I put 80 on them in Vegas halfway through the season with 20:1 odds.BigBlueLaw wrote:For the most part the figures are pretty accurate. They'll win. I put $10 on them at the beginning of the season and another $10 when the playoffs started and $10 for every game they've won in the postseason so far. So far I'm up around $500. If they win I get $1000. They'll win.freaknroll wrote:Very true. How long does it usually take to get the scholarship email?
I've been accepted since early january and my LSAT exceeds the 75th percentile.
Should I be getting worried?

The mac & cheese and brownies were pretty delicious. Congrats to all the admitted students, and thanks for enabling me to get free lunch today.

No, they're probably figuring out how much to award you. If you don't hear from them, then just call and ask about it.dingbat wrote:How long does it usually take to get the scholarship email?

And I was looking in on the atrium after class today. All I saw was newbies!!!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. Especially since I just got a very sizable offer from Clown College ('Bozo)Gemini wrote:No, they're probably figuring out how much to award you. On that note, please let me know if it's worth it to attend the next ASD.tebowforpresident wrote:Anybody who went care to share their opinion (here or in the class of 2015 thread)?
I'm very familiar with Fordham and with the general area, so I'm not sure if I'll get anything out of it.

In all honesty, free food and a t-shirt is likely about it. Though if it's not inconvenient for you to go, it's a great place to meet some of your poential future classmates. People seemed to be enjoying themselves from what I saw, while grabbing food and drinks. One of the hosts was dubious and said "This is for admitted students. Are you guys...admitted students?" The answer to that question is yes, poor word choice on her part.dingbat wrote:On that note, please let me know if it's worth it to attend the next ASD.tebowforpresident wrote:Anybody who went care to share their opinion (here or in the class of 2015 thread)?
