I am a splitter for one, and also went ND undergrad and wrote what I feel like is a pretty intense Why ND essay. I don't think my actual numbers are going to be the deciding factor so posting them won't help. If I get in it will be more for touchy feely reasons, which are big for ND (also why people who don't write a Why ND are almost always an auto waitlist/auto ding)stillwater wrote:I'm not even sure numbers would help for a school like ND. They are WL happy and there seems to be little logic in the numbers of who they accept and who they decide to WL/Deny.princeR wrote:Well if you posted your numbers we'd have a better idea. For that matter, why isn't everyone posting their numbers when they are updating their apps, doesn't really help anyone else!Lvaughn714 wrote:Decision made today, only sent in my app less than two weeks ago. Seems like a pretty speedy decision which I'm not so sure is a good thing.

Re: Notre Dame Class of 2015
The only thing I can think about this is that the law school is essentially doing the same thing as undergrad admissions. Notre Dame is somewhat comparable to a cult and not just when it comes to football. They probably want students that are not only going to have good numbers but also be die hard Notre Dame family members. It's hard to explain and I know it's strange, did your Why ND focus on facts like career paths and specific programs or did you throw in some "essence of ND" type things? Also this is of course just my guess I could be completely wrong and admissions might have been taken over by an actual leprechaun who just keeps hitting WL over and over.sums wrote:w/l, decision made 2/14 with a few updates in january. 172/3.5. wrote a why ND too. seriously???

I think this comment is really helpful when trying to understand why some people with excellent numbers were wait listed. Also, I really enjoy picturing a maniacal leprechaun crying, "WAIT LIST EVERYONE!"Lvaughn714 wrote:The only thing I can think about this is that the law school is essentially doing the same thing as undergrad admissions. I was waitlisted a couple weeks ago and did the online "i want to remain on the waitlist" thing. Is that sufficient or would a LOCI still be useful. FWIW, I had another (academic) LOR get processed by LSAC today.

Does anyone know if Notre Dame will negotiate scholarships?

I sent them a few comparable offers and I got a response saying that they don't negotiate, but that scholarship awards will be revisited in March if there is any leftover money.initech wrote:Does anyone know if Notre Dame will negotiate scholarships?
I've talked to/heard from a few current students who have said that an appeal is likely to eventually result in an additional 2-3k/year, but not much more than that.

Status was changed today to Decision Made. I sent the application not too long ago so this came as a surprise.

Same story here. I think today might have just been a big decision making day for them...I hope...Tobacco Road wrote:Status was changed today to Decision Made. I sent the application not too long ago so this came as a surprise.

If my decision was made 2 days ago, do I have a shot of it showing up today, or tomorrow?

Yes, then I wouldn't open it for 2-3 days to learn the virtue of patience.CPM723 wrote:If my decision was made 2 days ago, do I have a shot of it showing up today, or tomorrow?

Re: Notre Dame Class of 2015
This whole process has taught me that I have pretty much zero patience. You would think undergrad apps might have clued me in, I applied to ND EA and literally threw a fit when all my friends got their letters Friday and I had to wait all weekend. Glad I have matured a bit since then.CPM723 wrote:There's plenty of time to learn that! Haha, isn't snail mail the worst? I swear, this is why email was invented. ND took 2 days longer than I expected to come, and that was pure torture. Now I'm waiting on USC's letter, and I'm in the midwest.CPM723 wrote:There's plenty of time to learn that! Yeah same. I'm only a few hours from South Bend, so hopefully it doesn't take long.Green Glass Windows wrote:Haha, isn't snail mail the worst? I swear, this is why email was invented.
