I sent mine in already..*fingers crossed*!
I was just looking at the academic calendar for both STCL and UofH and there is a two week margin between the start of classes.. Does anyone know the latest time frame that UofH will accept waitlisted applicants?? I'd hate to get accepted AFTER classes have already started at STCL..

I sent it to Pam Thomas-Hill who added it to my application documents. In the letter they sent out to waitlisted applicants there is an e-mail address that you can ask questions to (lawadmissions@uh.edu) . I e-mailed general questions while I was still in the shock stage & Pam is the one who responded and has been helping me throughout this limbo. I addressed the LOCI to the Dean of Admissions though.sr84 wrote:who did you send it to?churakagii wrote:theatetus wrote:I am, trying to send one out today or tomorrow. Just FYI, Dean Dillon is VERY pregnant, and is probably going to be taking some maternity leave very soon. I would go ahead and send your LOCI to Pam as well, just to play it safe.

I am on the waitlist. 161 and 3.5 GPA. My status was just updated again to "Decision Letter mailed - 4/23". Never received a letter saying I was waitlisted except for my status updated to waitlisted on the status checker in March. Does anybody have an idea of what this letter could be..........????? Maybe an acceptance (fingers crossed) or maybe just a letter saying I'm still on the waitlist? Wtf, now I have to wait on snail mail! HATE THIS!

I don't think they would have updated your status just to send you a letter notifying you that you are still on the waitlist. I think its crazy that they don't tell you what the decision is though! Baylor did that to me as well.. Online it just said that the decision letter had been mailed but it ended up being my acceptance letter. Hopefully this is the same for you! good luck!

I think they have a quirk in the system, below is what my online status checker shows.churakagii wrote:dreambig wrote:I am on the waitlist. 161 and 3.5 GPA. That is a tough waitlist. Good news is that you are probably near the top to get off of the WL.dreambig wrote:I am on the waitlist. 161 and 3.5 GPA. Dreambig did you checj with the admissions office that it was just a wailist letter? I have the same status in my system (4/23/2012-decision letter mailed) got me nervous for good 10mins but then reading posts here i guess they messed up the system....? Hmm?dreambig wrote:Yep. Anyone else actually waiting on a decision? I've been under review since 3/25 with no updates since. I'm still hoping that this is good news otherwise why would they wait so long if I was going to be rejected????
I desperately want to go here. Not psyched about STCL.

FWIW, they sent out an email to some people on the waitlist the week before classes started asking for a reply from anyone who was still interested in attending.sr84 wrote:looking at last years thread the last acceptance i saw was in mid-Junechurakagii wrote:theatetus wrote:I am, trying to send one out today or tomorrow. Are you saying UHLC sent out the email a week before UH classes started or a week before STCL classes started? I guess either way it wouldn't matter because by that time we would've already paid our tuition to STCL (or wherever) for the fall. Does anyone know if there is a way to somehow get tuition refunded because of this situation? I can take a $300 hit but not $10000.mtyler19 wrote:FWIW, they sent out an email to some people on the waitlist the week before classes started asking for a reply from anyone who was still interested in attending.

Usually schools let you get a full refund minus deposits up to the first day of class. I don't see why STCL wouldn't.

Re: University of Houston c/o 2015 (2011-2012 cycle)
The problem is STCL classes start a week before Houston's do, so its very likely he may have already paid for and attended classes if that's when Houston sends out their last offers. Can they still get a refund at that point?

Before UHLC classes started, Dean Dillon sent out the email asking if anyone was still interested in attending to reply within like a few hours.theatetus wrote:Are you saying UHLC sent out the email a week before UH classes started or a week before STCL classes started? I remember someone saying that the status date changes when your file moves on to another person in the committee, but not sure if that's true.

At the bottom of the admission status checker page it says:Mactx wrote:hk54 wrote:Mactx wrote:Uh oh...movement. Status updated. Still in review, but status date changed to today. Hm.

"Please note that your account may show the same status for several weeks, even if the status date changes. This is because we have internal statuses that allow us to track the progress of your file as it moves through the review process. "
that might be what it means...
