Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
When waitlisted is it advised to write Why Duke or a LOCI first? Are there that many differences between the two? Also, would I attach such a letter in reply to the waitlist email from Hoye or send it to the normal admissions email? Do I address the letter to admission or to Hoye?

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
The differences are negligible; a LOCI is just a "Why Duke" written after the fact, instead of with the application. In that sense, it differs in that you emphasize how you are still interested in attending Duke, explain what specifically about the school interests you, and provide updates on what you've been doing if there is resume/grades/etc news to be shared.super6 wrote:When waitlisted is it advised to write Why Duke or a LOCI first? I would attach it as a .pdf and e-mail it to Hoye; he'll probably forward it to the regular adcomm but it won't hurt.

UR 1/24 here. 1/09 submission. 170/3.76, so I am a borderline applicant. The fact that many people who have applied later than me have already heard back is making me lost hope. Then again they may be PT.

Any 2/11ers have movement yet today? I thought we'd be receiving decisions soon.

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
Anyone written an LOCI? I initially applied 10/18 and updated to 2/7 but nothing since. Trying to decide if I should send an LOCI.

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
I did (last week?) after no updates for over three months. I've heard it's slightly frowned upon before they reach any decision on you but I figured I had nothing to lose. Plus, this way I learned they hadn't rejected me without telling me... Hopefully I'll find out soon whether it made a difference.whitman wrote:Anyone written an LOCI?
