Holy shit Georgetown,

You take the cake for the most thoughtless, insincere rejection of the year. I gave you 80 bucks and this is the best you can do?
Dear Mr Chico:

After careful consideration of your file, unfortunately, the Committee on Admissions is unable to approve your application for admission to the Law Center for the Fall of 2010.

Last year, we received almost 12,000 applications for the 575 places available in our first year class, and each year the quality of our applicant pool continues to increase. Consequently, the Committee must make the difficult decision of turning down many well-qualified candidates who have the potential for success in a law program.
We appreciate your interest in Georgetown and wish you success in attaining your academic goals.

Sincerely,

Andrew P. Cornblatt
Dean of Admissions
Associate Vice President for Graduate Admission

"the Committee must make the difficult decision of turning down many well-qualified candidates who have the potential for success in a law program."

They say well qualified for success in "a law program". Meaning well qualified, just not well qualified for our program.

i'm so sorry for everyone who was dinged today. i know i've been pretty negative about how throughly they've gone over our applications but.. you know.. i bet they're being completely honest with you when they say it was a tough choice. there's a reason why you applied to GTOWN (its because you're awesome) you will make great lawyers one day and you will do great things at whatever law school you end up going to.

now, it seems like the a lot of the FT/PT's are still around. do we want to start a tally of those left standing? or are we all just bracing for another round of dings?

(if we're tallying again - i'm still in... UR 3/09 then 3/29, LSAT 164, GPA<3.5, FT/PT, URM)

They also don't say that the dingee was well-qualified.
Meh. I think I'd be more upset if they said I was fully qualified but they were dinging me anyway.

I know it's been hard for me to get the rejections or waitlists because it feels personal even though it might not be....but my numbers are def not an auto admit for Georgetown and Dean Cornblatt wrote a really nice personal note on my acceptance letter so he seemed like a nice guy to me

I'm going to blow up my hotmail today. If they can't send me an e-mail, they can't ding me, right?
