I didn't mean to start anything! I appreciate all the advice everyone has given me regarding this because what I went through in hs should not be something anyone should ever have to go through. That's why it affects me 5 years later and it is really hard to remove the perpetrator from his act of bullying, even though I know I should give him a second chance. I can see that maybe he could be a different person, but I will honestly never ever forget the way he made me feel. Change in character doesn't fix past wrong doings and all I can do is hope the people he interacts with now have positive experiences.

I'm not going to blatantly ignore him if he were to say hi or approach me. But I sure as hell will not reach out to the person who constantly victimized me in school.

I'm not scared of him bullying me in ls, I don't even know what that would look like now. But I do want to bump the following because it needs to be reiterated:

bullying in adult life obviously looks different from bullying in high school or middle school.
the essence of the act is still the same - you aim to degrade someone else, and it is driven likely by your own unsolved insecurities, many of which are so deep-seated you've yet to confront them. this is obviously an issue which knows no age limit; there are bullies in all age categories.

im not really sure what im supposed to say to this response. your posting sucks, its not helpful, and is rarely earnest. yet you insist on posting in on-topic threads incessantly with drivel and then claim that i, or others, are taking this too seriously or that we should just ignore you. by way of posting all over this forum, with nothing but shit, we necessarily "interact". don't "clap back" at rigo for calling you out and then insist that people who defend him, an earnest and helpful poster, not "control" you and refrain from interacting with you.

Two years into a cushy paper-pusher job and I can't stand it. Maybe other people like it but I hate feeling like nothing I does matters, not in like a futile way but in like a no one gives a shit whether my work functions are performed.

I'm not trying to attack K-Jds here, but I would be a little weary of any preconceived ideas anyone may have about office work, especially in a support function. Do not underestimate how debilitating it can be feeling like the thing you do for most of your life is insignificant.

I make enough money to do the fun things I want to do, but I don't have enough time to do them all and it certainly doesn't make up for the +1/3 of my entire day I spend hating my job.

Everyone's job sucks, but there is a difference between a job that has it's negatives and a job that drives you to existential crisis.

It can sometimes take a lot of effort to recognize the difference before it's too late.

SO MUCH THIS. I'm in a support/coordinator position and this is so true.

My job matters only in a very narrow sense. Like, without me there are a lot of things that wouldn't get done but I feel like a well trained monkey could do my job. I don't really help anyone. I just make certain tasks easier/make it so others don't have to do stuff because I do it instead.

I guess the difference for me is that my job doesn't make me miserable. It's high work load but relatively low stress as long as you stay on top of it. The people I work with suck but the actually job is just kinda...Meh. I'm not unhappy but I'm not happy either. The work I did before made me happy/feel good sometimes and made me stressed out and upset other times. Having done both, I'd personally take the latter. Coming in every day and typing on a computer and having no emotional connection to anything I do makes me want to rip my hair out.

Real talk tho... it'd be a great reality tv show if we put a bunch of people applying to law school in a mansion for the application cycle. It'd probably end up with a person saying retake in every episode and someone being murdered for being accepted into HYS.

Sure they're great for some general questions that could probably be googled, but outside of that it's just a bunch of peers offering up conjecture and commiserating. It's not advice that should be taken at face-value by anyone.

IDK I guess I just always assumed everyone was here to dick around and ignore real work first and foremost. I understand that conversation can get way off topic and so on-topics are necessary, I just guess I really never realized that some people use it to try to get real information (especially in the general)
