Changed to under review yesterday. Still at that today. Sounds like good news.
Sent my $200 to BU. They did give me $90,000 and PI scholarship. Acceptance at Cornell at this point would really make my head spin.
AHHHHH! Here´s to another day of waiting.

Your status checker changed to something that says "under review"? Or it changed to EA Complete?somethingclever wrote:Changed to under review yesterday. Still at that today. Sounds like good news.

90k AND PI? How much does that come to?somethingclever wrote:Changed to under review yesterday. Still at that today. Sounds like good news.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Oops. It was $45K to start. But then they gave me PI which is 90k and trumps the prior $45K.John J. Rambo, Esq. wrote:90k AND PI? How much does that come to?somethingclever wrote:Changed to under review yesterday. Still at that today. Sounds like good news.

Also, sorry for any confusion folks, what I meant by under review is EAC. I assume for all means and purposes EAC translates to being under review.
Remind me not to post at 1am with limited brain function. Doh.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but a change back to EAC seems like it means a decision has been rendered. They just wait a few days to update the status checker to DR (probably to prevent a ton of people calling to find out their decisions)

Reserve. Ouch. Feeling pretty upset and not sure what to do. Apparently reserve is different from the waitlist, but I didn't really buy the distinction she gave me. I wonder if any EA Deferred people will be getting in.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
hello all, long time lurker, final decided to speak up.
i'd like to thank you all for the awesome info. you've provided. you guys have kept me sane!
on to the info....
EAC Wednesday, called today... reserve list.
asked for a thorough explanation of the distinction between reserve and wait lists....was told directly that reserve was "better" because all seats have not yet been filled for the entering class. waitlist territory on the other hand means all seats have been filled, and we are just awaiting people to change their minds.
i dunno if this means to stay hopeful or just let it be...but it's something

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Same as before. "People on reserve are waiting for spots that are still technically open. Waitlist is waiting for someone to withdraw." She did admit "spots are filling up very quickly." It just seems like there is a massive, massive reserve list. Ugh, I really want Cornell so I think I should just wait. But in some ways I wish they had cut me loose, since this is essentially a soft rejection.Mosca wrote:Do you mind sharing the distinction she gave you?

I'm 8 months older and my faith in humanity is waning, but in terms of our status at Cornell? No, right back where we started. The bottom of a very large stack of "reserve" applicants.rabbitsrans wrote:Basically, nothing has changed.

So EAC Wednesday = reserve? At this point I almost wish I was ding'd.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
That's what it looks like. I feel the same way. I feel like waiting on Cornell is making me feel like I am settling on WUSTL, when I really should be getting excited about attending a top tier institution which has offered enough money that I can walk away with limited debt. I am not ready to say "Just forget it" because the reasons I want to go to Cornell still exists (family, geography, mobility, programs). I am going to treat this like one of the other vague waitlists. Maybe someday I'll get a random phone call, but in the meantime I am getting ready to move to St Louis.danidancer wrote:So EAC Wednesday = reserve? At this point I almost wish I was ding'd.
Sorry for being so negative. I just am having flashbacks to the anger at finding out I'd f-ed myself by being EA instead of regular. Ugh, I didn't realize how invested I was in going until I realized how upset I am right now.

Like others have said. I'm not going to bother calling. If they want to send me a letter that says rejection or reserve thats great. But, nothing has changed. I'll send them another LOCI in a few weeks if I am still in limbo.

Checked by phone, finally the ding - if I would have gotten it in November I would have been bummed, by this point I am actually relieved, I have my choice pretty set and would have had to reconsider if I got in. Good luck to the rest of you...

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
what number are you all calling?
I'm calling (607) 255-5141 and getting a recorded message saying that status will only be given online.
