Who else got the e-mail this morning about the Public Interest Law weekend end of February? Anyone thinking of going?

I got it--it's nice that they offer to let you stay in current students' rooms. It's just a bit of short notice though. Also, I don't think I put "Public Interest" as one of my interests, so I am curious as to why I received that invite.

Thinking about it. I'm also thinking about sending a polite e-mail about scholarship money. I'd like to get that extra 5k. When I graduate I'll have a 3.4/170, which I think would possibly be deserving.

I got the PI email as well - but statuschecker says the school is still reviewing my application. The email said "Congratulations on your admission" - is this an error, or does statuschecker just need an update?

Little nervy this morning, thanks guys.h

I'm thinking about going. It would be nice to get to know more about the program. I'm mainly interested in IP, but I'm a former starving filmmaker and want to do some work with low income artists & media developers. Could be interesting.

I would say that is worth a phone call to the admissions office. The good news is that the student group had to get your email address from someone in admin... sounds like you are in!

The equalization was just for one year; don't get too excited haha.

168/3.75
i got the full year equalization, but I didn't get the 5k. Is the 5k for all three years? Also, STATS! ;)
For me, it's $5k a yr. over 3 yrs., $15k total.

Nice! You're looking at under $10k tuition per year.

Congrats!! I have the same LSAT score but my GPA is .57 lower. So my chances are looking pretty slim. I'd love to move to the dirty south, c'mon UGA!!!

Just call the admissions office on Monday and ask them. That's what I did. It may be later for you because you just got in.

Got my admissions letter and decal today. No mention of scholarship or equalizer. Would this come in a separate mailing or should I expect no scholarship offer?

I think they've all been separate so far. I know mine was.

Visited Athens Friday night, went out, then walked around the law school for a couple minutes on Saturday. Seems like a good place to spend three years, even though the weather was terrible when I was there.

Just waded through the comments posted since 1/27. Congrats to all who have gotten OOS tuition equalization or other scholarship money.

I've given little thought to law school since my last board check since I've been traveling in Japan. With free Internet in my room on my last night, the anxiety of waiting is back. Thanks ya'll (he says sarcastically). I just hope Mom and Dad have good news from UGA when I see them at the airport tomorrow night.

Good luck to you all with your cycles. It's nice to read a thread that remains almost 100% positive about a school/admissions.

I was out there this weekend too. It was total crap downtown because of the weather. Still, a bad day in Athens beats a great day in most places. BYOB Mexican dinner at Cali 'n Titos, the pub crawl like old times and watched the 6 nations rugby matches at Landsdowne Road Pub on College Ave.

**Info you can use** For anyone looking to go there, I saw a sweet loft for rent next to the old Georgia Theatre. It probably sucked went the place was open because of the massive noise, but after the fire (google it, insane pictures), there is literally no one next door and no one below, so it is a choice location with no downside like a lot of the above-bar lofts. Walking distance to law school, one block from campus. Seriously if you are going and like the "downtown" loft type living arrangement, check it out.

Withdrawing today--hopefully my tuition equalization scholarship will go towards someone else here who is still waiting!!!!

I'm sad I won't be spending 3 years in Athens, it seems like a really great town.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
