LOL sure...it was easy, actually, because I never went to class freshman year, ranked second to last in my class and dropped out, then got my life together, transferred schools, and did 3/4 of my college education at a different school. So my degree-granting university GPA is practically straight As, but LSDAS takes into account all schools one has ever attended in her entire life.wired wrote:Ouch. Do you mind if I ask how you took such a big hit on GPA?jk11287 wrote:My official stats are 169/3.3, but my non-LSDAS GPA is 3.83 with a double major. I sort of want to say to them, listen, you have to report my lsdas anyway since I'm accepted and going here, but don't you think that my really high GPA and upward trend should be considered in the merit aid process? Because honestly, I think it should. I'm getting married this year and I just graduated college, I actually really can't afford to pay sticker and any little bit helps. I'm going to attach recommendations from professors I had this year who will testify that a.) I'm a great student (and my LSDAS isn't indicative of my capabilities) and b.) I didn't slack off just because it was senior year, and hope for the best.
Any other suggestions?

That makes sense. Also, props for never going to class and still not being last in the class.

same thing with me--i would have a 3.95 instead of 3.7. kind of wish i could go back and have a serious talk with my 18-year-old self about just waking up on time. but oh well, it's prob for the best.jk11287 wrote:LOL sure...it was easy, actually, because I never went to class freshman year, ranked second to last in my class and dropped out, then got my life together, transferred schools, and did 3/4 of my college education at a different school. Yeah, but your 18-year-old self would probably just ignore you... 18-year-old selves tend to do that.robotoroboto wrote:same thing with me--i would have a 3.95 instead of 3.7. kind of wish i could go back and have a serious talk with my 18-year-old self about just waking up on time. but oh well, it's prob for the best.jk11287 wrote:LOL sure...it was easy, actually, because I never went to class freshman year, ranked second to last in my class and dropped out, then got my life together, transferred schools, and did 3/4 of my college education at a different school. I saw an earlier post about receiving the complete e-mail twice, once on 12/3 and once on 12/28. Did anyone who was rejected/accepted receive both e-mails? I'm sure this probably means nothing, but what else do we have to do besides contemplate meaningless notifications and such?

I got only one and I was accepted. Don't think they really mean anything at all.DCLawGW wrote:I saw an earlier post about receiving the complete e-mail twice, once on 12/3 and once on 12/28. I'd delete the bit about "I actualy really can't afford to pay sticker." Only the uber rich kids whose parents pay in cash for everything can actually afford 70K a year for law school.

Has anyone who receieved the generic "we've placed you in the regular applicant pool; you should get a response in 4-6 weeks" letter gotten a decision? I don't want to have to think about waiting another month or so for an acceptance, especially since going to GW basically hinges on scholarship money.

According to LSN, there was a whole group of ED deferrals that got a decision 2.20 or so.lslc13 wrote:Has anyone who receieved the generic "we've placed you in the regular applicant pool; you should get a response in 4-6 weeks" letter gotten a decision? Feeling your pain. No word for me either. The admissions office said all decisions (for ED applicants) were sent Friday so give it a day or two more.lateforthesky16 wrote:STILL no mail today. i was able to log-in to the admit site a while back but still no mail.
Edit: specified it is for ED applicants.

Re: The George Washington Law School 2010
Do you think it's too late to get any scholarship money if I applied within the next few days? I was going to wait until next year and ED if I decided I wanted to go to GW, but I decided I don't want to wait a year and from LSN, it looks like lots of people with numbers similar to or lower than mine have gotten pretty generous scholarships, usually about $105,000. If I applied now do you think I could still get one, or is it too late?

How did people log into the admitted students website before getting any decision? Could someone post the instructions if they are available?

Oh wow. You just made my heart drop. 169/3.38 who is still waiting to hear back.... Really wanted GW as a financially viable option and you getting WL'd does not make me feel like that is too much of a possibility.Doodsmack wrote:WLed by mail today - 169/3.3. Kind of disappointing.

When did you apply? With a twin GPA and slightly higher LSAT, do you think I could still get that scholarship, or will they have run out by the time they process me?
