Dean Pless,
How does Illinois handle its waitlist? Are applicants ranked? How many applicants do you plan to keep on it? Thank you in advance.

Re: Illinois 2010!
One quick Q Dean Pless - When you use the term "guaranteed" in terms of the $30k/year offer, what exactly does that mean? Theres gotta be a cutoff. Ill still get 30k a year even if Im pulling a 2.0?

Re: Illinois 2010!
As long as you are a student here, the scholarship is guaranteed. Currently good academic standing is a 2.0 cumulative GPA. If you fell below that you would have one semester to bring it up. If you didn't, you would be dismissed from the College.
The Wait List is not ranked. Once we get an idea of the size and shape of the class, as deposits begin to come in, we will look to the Wait List to fill any spots in the class. What we are looking for a that time will be determined by how the class is shaping up. It is very possible that I will remove people from the Wait List as I get a better picture of the class and I know that we will not have a seat for them. I try to keep the list as small as possible, but it will be at its largest size over the next two months.

Dean Pless,
My file was complete on 12/3, but my status checker said "not in review". What's wrong with it? Thank you.

Questions regarding your application, as opposed to general application questions, should probably be asked via email.shchj wrote:Dean Pless,

Re: Illinois 2010!
Thanks Dean Pless for all your helpful posts. You are remarkable! I was WL. Even though I was so disappointed, your kind letter helped ease the pain! With a fairly high GPA (well above median) & somewhat low LSAT (slightly below median), I am going to retake LSAT next week to hopefully get off your WL. If I strike it BIG, will you see the score as soon as LSAC sends it to you for you to take note, OR will it just go into my file & IF you never need to get to the WL it will not be reviewed? Just wondering the process at that point...
Thanks SO much!

What does "on hold for second review" mean? Waitlist?

That is what my status checker says, but I also received an email informing me I was on the waitlist, so I believe that is what it means.

TITCR. Although your, and my, status checker says "On hold for second review," we should have received emails from Dean Pless this morning informing us of our placement on the waitlist.horriblegb wrote:fenderjsm88 wrote:What does "on hold for second review" mean? Waitlist?

Re: Illinois 2010!
Busy day on this thread.
Any individual questions on your specific file, just email me. I am happy to let you know what is going on with your file.
For the wait list, we will compile the results of the survey at the end of each day and update your status within our admissions database, which will update your online status checker. I will also send you an email confirming your choice to be on the wait list. It is two different systems so it isn't an automated process.
I don't have any problems with parents visiting with admitted students. Picking the right school is a big decision and having people you trust help you with that decision is a good choice. Just make sure you ask the questions, not your parents. You don't want your future classmates to think of you as "that guy."
We will see new LSAT scores as soon as you do, but it isn't a bad idea to send me an email letting me know that the new score is in and you are still interested.

Out of curiosity, what was the number of admits today from the pool of applicants who were on hold?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
