No idea, but did you get an envelope????

They call for admits though so any envelope without a call I can only imagine is not good.

I thought Yale flies you out to New Haven to laugh in your face, and then tells you to find a way home.

Well there's some sort of large envelope from somewhere waiting for me, but I don't know from where or what it is. I'm trying to prepare myself for it saying "Yale."

I figured it'd probably be small, but stranger things have happened... I remember when I applied to undergrad that a couple of schools that rejected me sent the rejections in a large envelope with a viewbook. That was quite a "fuck you."

Wow, really? I would have sent it back with a letter iterating my hatred for them.

No idea. I think it was only one school, actually, now that I think of it... but it has clearly stuck in my memory.

Maybe it was their way of telling you that you almost made it in.

They did that last year. But what with budget cuts...

They make you fly yourself out to New Haven then laugh in your face and tell you to find a way home.

I was rejected with a large envelope from a U of C Ph D program. The large envelope was to invite me to apply for a (n expensive) one year MA in "the liberal arts."

small envelope. and i can't tell for sure, but i think that the admissions director's "signature" on the letter isn't even legit, it looks like a photocopy. good to know he's not wasting any time on us rejects.

Those things are awesome inventions. People think they're special for getting a "signed" letter.

Man I just got a call from a 3L to congratulate me on my acceptance, but the whole time I thought it was Yale. I was soooo happy. Then the guy sent me a follow up email saying he's from USC. So bizarre ... how could I have missed that? I guess I'm on edge, waiting for either a rejection letter or an acceptance phone call. My mind is playing tricks on me ...

This is a fact. I worked on the Hill for a while. Had to use one about 25 times per day.

Can anyone tell me if it's normal to have to wait a long time between submission and a "complete" email? I submitted a few weeks ago and still haven't heard anything.

ugh. my numbers are exactly the same as yours. awesome.
ding me now, asha.
Don't fret. Hard numbers aren't the whole story. My roomie had 173/3.95, is not an URM, and was accepted.

My numbers were 174/3.99, no spectacular softs. I know people with better numbers and/or better softs than mine that got dinged - they now hate my guts, calling me a "lucky bastage". :D

Both of us straight from UG.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
