You mean the one listed as cumulative GPA in the "Academic Summary Report," correct? Not the self-reported degree GPA?chargers21 wrote:They see gpa as well if you have one on LSACDaydreamNation wrote:Also got unsolicited Texas waiver. Out of state but might apply.
Question: I'm a pretty extreme splitter, do they do these waivers purely off of LSAT scores or do they see GPA as well?

Still nothing from Texas. This is the last school below CCN that I want to apply to but hasn't given me a waiver. Tried soliciting a couple weeks ago and they told me they only do merit waivers based on CRS.
Also school cancelled class and work doesn't want anyone non essential until at least Sunday, so I should be able to finish up my apps. Unless Irma kills me first.

Re: TLS c/o 2021 Applicants Thread
Have a question but didn't want to make a thread so I'll ask here.
When writing "Why X" statements is it TCR to tell the school that they're your first choice? My Why Chicago is really strong (I think) but IDK if mentioning that they're far and above my #1 will help me or hurt me. My numbers are above both 75ths so I think I'm a safe bet for admission, I was concerned more about scholarships (especially that Ruby...)

The waiver email I got specifically mentioned being a Texas resident and implied they'll always waive a resident's application fee.PrezRand wrote:Is it true they give you one for being an in-state applicant?usaorbust wrote:Unsolicited Texas waiver just sent out

What was the reason for UT sending out fee waivers then? My friend texted me saying he got one for being an in-state residentusaorbust wrote:I am out of state, personallyPrezRand wrote:Is it true they give you one for being an in-state applicant?usaorbust wrote:Unsolicited Texas waiver just sent out

On the subject of Northwestern - should I hold until I have an LSAT to ask or just go for it right now?

It just said merit based. Maybe they did send out fee waivers to all in-state residents, but they sent merit based waivers to others.PrezRand wrote:What was the reason for UT sending out fee waivers then? Going to a law school fair tomorrow. Any suggestions on good questions to ask the admissions reps?

I figured anyone can get an NU waiver (it's how it's been the past few years) so here ya go:
http://www.law.northwestern.edu/admissi ... html#apply
"As an incentive for prospective applicants to apply early (between September 1 to December 1), we offer application fee waivers to any prospective JD applicant who simply fills out our registration form. This form can be found on our Apply page. A fee waiver code will be generated and emailed within 2-3 business days. "

Just be interested in the schools. Get information on programs they're really proud of, or things they like to brag about. It'll give you stuff to reference in your "why X" essays. If they give you a business card and tell you to follow up with any questions you have, think of some (good) questions and follow up with them.TedBuckland wrote:Going to a law school fair tomorrow. People think these events are pointless but they're not- I way overperformed at a T14 in admissions and scholly last year because of conversations I had with someone I met at one of these events. Take advantage of the opportunity!

I'm an undergrad at UGA if you have any questions about the campus or Athens.
