Hopefully with some of you guys withdrawing they'll consider, you know, reviewing my app. That would be a nice change.

Does this apply to T14 schools? UCLA's offer was generous, but with merit and need combined, it is still not enough to convince me to move across country.
I think I've heard before that they don't really care about T14 offers or acceptances except for Berkeley. I know a girl that goes there now, so I'll ask her and report back
Okay, so people have used T14 offers to negotiate. She knows of people that got their scholarships increased by 60k, so negotiation is definitely possible and encouraged.

Just got in by phone call as well. Went complete end of January. What's better for scholarship leverage, half tuition scholly at USC or admission at sticker to Berkeley? Or I guess both wouldn't hurt to mention?

Both are worth a mention but in terms of getting money half tuiton at USC is best bet, unless you end up getting money at Berkeley. Try to negotiate with USC to make it more than half tuition before you take it to UCLA :) good luck!

Does UCLA combine merit and need based? I got offered 45K in merit and 15K in need based. I don't know if they'll just stick with the 45K or combine it to 60K.

I don't think they combine the two into the merit offer, so I'd assume you'd be at 60k now.

Has anyone found out that they had been admitted in any way except a phone call?

I was waitlisted and did not receive a call, but that doesn't necessarily mean they never ever call.

Mine was by email, but I did get a phone call a day or two later.

Hit with the waitlist last night. Disappointed me because it happened the same day I got into USC, but I may look for an apartment between both of them to try keep the UCLA option available. Being from the east coast, it'd be hard for me to accept a WL offer too late in the cycle

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
