I am really starting to think I am going to end up at WUSTL. Who else is really considering here?

I did a Skype interview last year and it was pretty chill. In general if you can answer why law school, why wustl, and why STL (if you're oos) and then just have a conversation like a normal person you're golden.MikeChristopher wrote:Any insights on what to expect from a WUSTL Skype interview? Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
I'm a non–trad, so mine focused on why I came around to law at this point in my life and a few other questions related to that. If you're a fellow non–trad, I'd expect them to focus around that as well. My interviewer also said they normally asked about an obstacle the interviewee had overcome, though that was not addressed in my interview.MikeChristopher wrote:Any insights on what to expect from a WUSTL Skype interview? Accepted earlier this week, and I just got an email about scholarship money!
Way more than I thought, $120K guaranteed over three years. I am completely speechless! This was my basic response.

Congrats!!! I interviewed the same day as you and haven't received anything yet. I interviewed really poorly (skype kinda threw me and I got nervous). My stats are low so I'll probably end up being waitlisted. Fingers crossed.TheWalkingDebt wrote:Got the email. In today!

+1 for strongly considering. The huge scholarships are so enticing. Low risk, and if I do good enough during 1L I could always transfer.BirdLawExpert wrote:+1 on the consideration front, I want to go the ASW but I haven't looked into it yet.The Abyss wrote:I'm seriously considering it. Anyone else who interviewed a while ago and hasn't heard back? Have median LSAT and way above 75th GPA. A bit frustrating.

I interviewed more than a month ago, but as I said, I'm at median lsat, so that could be the problem. It seems like they've gotten back to most people above it.

Same here! I applied as a "safety" and when I saw the full ride offer the prospect of 0 debt pushed it to the top of my list. I'm still waiting to hear from other schools but I'm seriously considering it!BirdLawExpert wrote:Seriously. Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
I know this isn't a reason to choose a school, but I also like the way their admissions process was actually rolling. I applied early and was accepted early with nearly a full tuition scholarship. It was like a month turnaround, and that was at the beginning of the cycle. Still waiting on Emory, Vanderbilt, etc. On top of that, there is no way that Emory will match the scholarship amount from WUSTL when they cost nearly the same. Vanderbilt won't match it, but that's because they are a "tier above" WUSTL in their opinion. On top of that, it seems that with the way WUSTL gives out scholarships they may jump Vanderbilt in the rankings as they are already surpassing Vanderbilt's median LSAT. WUSTL just gives me the impression that they are on the way up.alice1990 wrote:Same here! Weird, because for me, into Vandy after 4 weeks, and it has been about a month and a half for Wash U. And I considered it a safety.
They seem to be VERY splitter friendly.
And to clarify, under normal circumstances I wouldn't think anything of not hearing for a month and a half, but that seems counter to the norm for Wash U.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
And to boot, Vanderbilt has been extremely reverse splitter friendly this cycle. Historically, WUSTL is always splitter friendly. So it seems like for a quick turnaround Vanderbilt is the place to apply for those with high GPAs and WUSTL is the place to apply for those with high LSATs.soxnation654 wrote:Weird, because for me, into Vandy after 4 weeks, and it has been about a month and a half for Wash U.
