Now that everything is pretty much over, what are your thoughts on Stanford Law?

Umm, it's the best fucking school in the entire goddamned world. I will be there this fall and am personally just grateful that I get to post in the C/O 2019 thread, where we actually have a real OP in fliptrip. Eat caca and die, Dcc617. Your parents hate you.

It's chill bro, but I was already set on Harvard or Yale anyway. I got my shades on to block out all that shade from CA. Enjoy the earthquakes, hippies.

I personally can't stand Stanford, its administration, and especially its admissions office. I waited patiently for 4-7 months only to get waitlisted or rejected less than a week before May. Seriously, go home Stanford, you're drunk (unless you accept me off the waitlist, then I will love you)

Meh, I mean, this was a total long shot for me. I just wanted to see what would happen. This is what I thought would happen.

I'm totally indifferent to Stanford, because I am super happy with the option I am going with. Grow up, Dcc617. You're embarrassing yourself with this poll.

I will be Seymour Asses from Futurama, and Stanford is my Fry. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? I WILL FUCKING DIE ON THE WAITLIST!

I am a lurker. I may not have even applied anywhere this cycle. My motives for lurking this thread are entirely inscrutable and apparently I have nothing better to do with my life.

Dcc617, stop making every other poll option about yourself. While you are very handsome, your constant narcissism and self-indulgence has become off-putting.

I wish I had something useful to contribute to this. Perhaps a ritualistic sacrifice could help. Find someone who wants to go to SLS just like you do. Convince that person to do something clearly ruinous to their chances, like write an LOCI that brags about getting into Yale and wondering what exactly SLS has to offer in comparison, wait six days, draw a picture of four cats playing poker and check your email. Your note from Dean Deal will be waiting for you.
It's a little sad that my paranoia thought about this for more than three seconds.

Excellent post, though!

Exactly what I'm wondering. I have been under review since September.
Awwwwww, guys! Don't do this to yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drill it into your head--SLS operates on a different schedule and they very well can take you to the wire (like late April). As long have you've not been DLS-ed you're in the game!

What can I do here in the applicant thread to make the wait more bearable?
Flip, you're the best. I don't think you could do any more than you already are, thanks for always helping put our neuroticism at bay!

no but actually y'all, i have a 163 and a 3.7, HOW AM I NOT REJECTED. its almost sad bc I'm hoping maybe i pull a hail mary on this one but it just seems silly. stanford is the last school i have to hear from.

Then, friend, you are exactly who Dean Deal is talking about as a candidate that she read and liked and is holding on to see if she can fit you in. You're definitely not an auto-reject.

LOL @ Veteran. Here's a little TLS rant to entertain folks:

Everyone in TLS land is guessing. Status here seems to confer for several reasons: tenure of membership, real life status attained (0L, 1-3L, working), and level of activity. There's really nothing conclusive about any of that to suggest that anyone really knows what they are talking about. I share a lot because I've applied to law schools thrice (and done everything one does in law school applications except interview for AnBryce/RTK) and have consumed enough information here to have a comfort with conventional wisdom that I can adjust to differing circumstances. So, basically, I can infer from my direct experience, and work as a conduit of the wisdom of a considerable crowd. That makes my guesses right more often than someone who has less experience in the admissions/scholarship/school choosing process, but that's really not the same thing as knowing what I'm talking about.

I also will not suddenly become an expert on the day I become a 1L or the day I graduate law school. I'll just have more anecdotal information to inform my energetic guessing.

Notes like this assure you getting a call from Dean Deal. So keep 'em coming.
So if I mention your awesomeness tomorrow when I visit, I'll be admitted on the spot

I flinch every time I visit the status checker. :(

What do you guys think of sending a LOCI?? I have really wanted to but I wasn't sure if it's really appropriate --any thoughts/advice on this?

It's a loooooooong shot for me but everyday that passes where there isn't a DLS provides hope. Oh SLS how you play with my heart.

I'm thinking a new bolded statement should go into the OP:

Should I send a LOCI?

Yes! Stanford is very interested in seeing ongoing applicant interest. Don't miss out on an important opportunity to let the admissions committee know you're still thinking about and loving SLS.

Have avoided DLS to this point, so I've gone all in by submitting a LOCI and requesting a third SLS specific rec (original two recs were generic). Not holding my breath, but now I will know that I did absolutely everything in my power. Hail Mary heave! Good luck everyone :)

I know that the LOCI should be sent to SLS admissions, but should it be addressed to SLS admissions, or to Dean Deal?..Or both?
