I just got an interview request and I'm really nervous as this is my first interview...I'm way below 25th for LSAT but above 75th for gpa (I'm a URM with some (?) interesting softs if that helps). I don't know what to expect. What does this mean

I have an interview coming up soon and I am wondering for those who were already interviewed, does CLS ask a lot of behavior questions? Thanks!

It means they're giving you a chance! My interviewer seemed genuinely interested in my background + activities so I spent most of those 25 minutes elaborating on them (details, challenges, what I've learned at the end of the day). They're giving you a chance to underscore your interesting softs. Good luck!

Well I stand corrected! the Admissions Team sent me a cute hand-written card all the way abroad to South Korea with a neat Columbia Law bumper sticker as a gift. Nothing substantial in the card though--some nice pleasantries (excited to welcome you to... etc).mynameiskevin wrote:Thanks for sharing. I feel much more relieved to know this!nahmjun wrote:I was admitted on November 16th and haven't received anything ever since.mynameiskevin wrote:Did anyone admitted receive any kind of further instruction after the PDF letter?
I'm beginning to get anxious as I haven't got any communication after that.
I had the audacity (stupidity) to ask them what's up, and this was their response:
"Congratulations once again on your admission to Columbia Law School! We are thrilled that you will be joining the Columbia community. At this point, there are no additional steps that you need to take. The Office of Admissions will be in touch with you throughout the coming weeks, and we will send you materials regarding visitation, enrollment, and other pertinent information by the end of January. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! "
This was on Nov 24
I wonder if this is a way to alleviate the pain I must bear as a non-citizen in a US law school....

I hope so! I went complete on the 14th I think (maybe later? I applied a while earlier but my last recommender took her time...)lolRCscrewyou wrote:It means they're giving you a chance! Also received this! Don't have a car where I am & current employer doesn't know about this whole Columbia Law School thing... I guess I could paste it on the front of my suit like a lapel pin.nahmjun wrote:

One thing I think can help you "alleviate the pain" you will bear is to get a Columbia Law School face tattoo. I've been considering it since I (somehow) was admitted.

I looked through my email history, and I didn't get an email from them until February when they were confirming that I was attending one of the admitted students days, which I received information about from the physical mail. Who knows if that's how they'll do it this year, but if you won't have any chance of getting mail from your previous address, I'd probably write to them, especially if it gets to be mid Jan and you haven't gotten anything yet.magneticfields wrote:Is this true?dreams2020 wrote:

Sorry if this has been already discussed, but does any of the ED admits know when the ASW is?

Don't worry about being nervous; it's just a conversation. Maybe your last interview upgraded you from rejection to the waitlist! You never know so just do your best.

Has anyone who was asked to submit their fall grades received a decision?

Should I submit my fall grades if they haven't asked yet, but my cGPA improved by 0.03? it won't make a difference to the 25/50/75 boundaries though

Yep! Just shoot an updated transcript to LSAC and an email to columbialawstud24 wrote:Should I submit my fall grades if they haven't asked yet, but my cGPA improved by 0.03? it won't make a difference to the 25/50/75 boundaries though
No RD applicants have received decisions yet! Not sure if this answers your question though (if you're RD or ED)RedWhite&Blonde wrote:Has anyone who was asked to submit their fall grades received a decision?

Yeah, they're pretty slow and decisions come by snail mail, so be prepared to wait.Mbear5 wrote:Oh gosh... lol Thanksbenwyatt wrote:FebruaryMbear5 wrote:When does Columbia typically send out responses to RD applicants?

Hi everyone! Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear back. I'm a current 1L, saw this thread and decided to scope out the new admits. I know some of you were asking about the ASW dates- the dates they gave to current students were both in March (the first weekend and the last weekend, I believe).

Perhaps this is an obvious question, but does the interview request carry clout/ a good indiction they are seriously interested? I read elsewhere online that candidates are chosen at random. Does anyone have anymore information about this claim?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
