I don't like this system USC. Either make it all email or all snail mail because otherwise, it's torture

My WL was email last year. Here is a copy of the textsweenale wrote:Pretty sure it's: acceptances email, rejections snail mail. Not sure about waitlist?LawsRUs wrote:Can I ask how are decisions communicated? I thought it came in the mail, but what I read might be old information..
The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your application and based on your strong record of accomplishments would like to offer you a space on the waiting list. If you would like to accept a place on the waiting list, you must complete the electronic wait list response form by May 16, 2014. The form must be sent electronically. You will be required to login using the e-mail address this letter is addressed to and your date of birth. This will authenticate your status.
Applicants who do not complete the form prior to May 16, 2014 may still be considered should seats become available, but those who do submit the response form will be given priority. If you do not wish to remain on the waiting list, you must indicate so on the response form in order to be removed from all future consideration.
Since we do not rank our waitlist it is impossible to predict the likelihood of your being admitted from the waiting list. This varies from year to year. The past two years we have taken a number of applicants from the waitlist shortly after the first tuition deposit deadline (May 1). So, if space becomes available in the entering class, the Admissions Committee will initiate a comprehensive review of all applicants who have accepted a space on the waiting list.
What can you do? First, READ the attached document addressing the frequently asked questions raised by candidates regarding our waitlist. Second, stay in touch with us by sending a periodic email to waitlist@law.usc.edu. In addition, you are welcome to submit additional written materials (within reason) for the Committee's consideration. Finally, if your fall grades have not already been submitted to LSAC for inclusion in your CAS report, please go ahead and submit them directly to LSAC so that we may consider your most up-to-date transcript.
In addition, we have launched a process whereby wait-listed applicants may submit a short video in response to prompted questions that will be used in the decision making process. All wait-listed applicants are encouraged to submit this video, and detailed instructions are included on the Interview Program attachment. The deadline to submit this video is also May 16, 2014. In lieu of the video, wait-listed applicants remain free to submit a letter of continued interest at waitlist@law.usc.edu.
If you are offered admission, we may notify you first by telephone and/or email. You will be required to respond quickly to an admissions decision (typically within a few days of the offer). Therefore, it is important that you provide our office with accurate and current contact information. Please note that typically scholarship funds have been exhausted by the time we admit applicants from the waitlist. You should therefore keep that in mind as you consider placement on the waitlist.
Periodically we will send updates on our admissions process. If you decide at any time to cancel your place on the waiting list, please inform us so that we may allow another anxious applicant to be considered for admission.
Thank you for your interest in USC Law School. We appreciate your patience during this lengthy admissions process.
Sincerely,
-

Has anybody received acceptances through snail mail, or are they done exclusively through email?

I've been on committee 2nd review for nearly a month already. What's weird is that I never saw a 1st review, only a 2nd review. Anyone else been on 2nd review this long?

When they do send the denials through snail mail...does anything change under the "mailings" section of the status checker?

Sorry to do this, but I just got my ding in the mail, and the letter specifically mentioned my USC alum status. I had "Decision Finalized" on Thursday, and no contact until now. I'm in Southern California, so I think that explains why I got it so quickly. I will still hold out hope that you don't all have the same fate :/

Woaaah was not expecting to wait a whole month at CR2. I barely have a week down, but at least there's still hope!!
