I think the new PT is likely the reason for the change. I understand it's their first year fully rolling that out.

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Just for everyone's information, I requested a shift from RD to PT, and they very gracefully denied it: "Because the Priority Track review process is quite labor-intensive, we have to limit the number of invitations we extend. While we won't be able to review your application on that accelerated timetable, we'll do our best to get you a decision as quickly as we can."

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
That's just what the director of admissions told me in person... That RDs are generally a bit delayed because of "the new priority track this year." Maybe I misunderstood...rebexness wrote:wut no.tal18 wrote:I think the new PT is likely the reason for the change. I understand it's their first year fully rolling that out.

been around for at least four years, only thing that was different this year was the provisionally accepted thing which they quickly retracted lolrebexness wrote:PT was definitely around last cycle and the one before.
So their system for evaluating apps may have changed, but PT def isn't new.

173 (and 167), 3.94
Got Priority Reserve from PT, no why duke etc., actually a rough first draft of PS. Applied for no real reason, wouldn't go down to the States for Duke anyways.

Super long-term lurker but felt obligated to post out of sheer shock.
In PT with 3.5, 169, non-URM.
Those above must be yield protection. There's no other explanation.

Good luck! I got mine around 3pm EST yesterday. My status checker changed to "Decision made; check for email" about 3 hours prior.mgschiet wrote:My numbers are exactly the same...Today's day 10. Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Is PT affected if one applies ED? I just went back through the emails I've received...the PT registration email says, "When your application is complete, you will receive an e-mail confirming that you are being reviewed through the Priority Track process." But none of the emails regarding my application mention anything about priority track. They only confirm that I applied ED.
Edit: Status just changed to "Decision Made"...I guess that answers that question.

sorry, but if i were you i'd look on the bright side here - PR people have a strong record of getting taken in eventually, and now you're off the binding hook.mgschiet wrote:Priority reserve.

169, 3.59. Undergraduate degree was in Trumpet Performance. Currently enlisted in the Marine Corps. Did not write a Why Duke or a diversity statement, so I guess I have some work to do.

I'm kind of disappointed that I got my application in during the 10-day period that overlaps with Thanksgiving, so I actually end up getting a delayed PT decision. I really wish I had gotten it in a little earlier, the suspense is killing me.

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
When I got the email telling me that I had gone complete, it said that it was possible that since my 10 day period overlapped with Thanksgiving it was possible that my decision wouldn't be available until early December. Which is fine, it just makes it more suspenseful for me because I don't have that defined 10 day period that I would've gotten if I had gotten in my stuff a little earlier. Oh well, I'll just have to wait...james.bungles wrote:does it not include holidays?
