I got an offer of $100 after mentioning that I'm about a four hour drive from Chicago.

Congrats! When you're picking later, lots of people in here took a full ride here over no/little money at T14s, so assuming that that's what you come down to there's a lot of people that can give you advice.

Has there been any sort of admission patterns established this year for WUSTL like acceptances go out on Fridays? My status has said under review for over three days now and it's making me nervous...

I would say no. Last cycle seemed to have a pattern and this cycle seems random so far, but also don't worry, 3 days isn't good/bad you'll be fine :)

I've been watching this thread for a while now, and I figured there might be something about my experience that can help someone.

I applied last year with below median LSAT but right below 75% GPA and I'm not an under-represented minority. Wishful thinking I guess.
I set up a visit, and while I was waiting to visit I got a rejection letter. I emailed them and asked if I could still visit and interview since I thought they offered interviews to all applicants, and they said yes. When I interviewed they told me that my file must have accidentally fell in to the wrong pile, and after they looked it over they said they could put me on the waitlist and kept stressing about how I could always transfer. I wrote them a few times checking in and they kept saying they're still deciding. Eventually I enrolled somewhere else and about two weeks in to the semester they told me that there were no seats.

Moral of the story is A. ask for an interview if they don't offer one, and B. they may string you on a bit, so don't wait too long to deposit somewhere else if you don't want to sit out a year.

Just got an acceptance e-mail today!

Actually submitted my application last thursday (11/13) and had a phone interview
the next day (11/14). 6 day turn-around for the entire admission process - really impressive.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew when they send more info about admission? This one was a congratulatory e-mail nothing about when we could hear about potential $$ or anything

There were almost 7 weeks between when I got my acceptance and when they e-mailed me about the scholarship. Though to be fair I was admitted early in the cycle and they may be a little faster now.

ETA: The admitted student's portal information came around the same time as the scholarship info.

Congrats above! And yea then after the money honestly you won't hear anything for a while. I mean the next important thing would be ASW.

Sorry I know this was asked before but I don't know what page - where do most students live (neighborhood)? What is a reasonable amount to pay for a 1 bedroom?

Trying to figure out how much I should budget for living. Thanks!

Is there a trend in the number of days between going complete and getting invited for an interview?

definitely listen to rebexness' post.

I moved to STL in 2012. the first year, I had a studio in the CWE and paid $540/month. last year, I moved to a two-bedroom in clayton, and my half is $500/month (but my utilities are higher). let me know if you have any specific questions related to the neighborhoods or apartments.

I don't have a car, and so will be relying on the metro for transportation to/from school. for anyone who doesn't know, students can get a free metro pass through wash u.

I live in the middle of central west end (Lindell and Euclid) and I like the neighborhood, and I don't have a car and it's like a ten minute walk from my place to the metro stop, eight minute ride to school, and then just like a few minute walk from the UCity stop to AB hall. I pay $825 for a studio including utilities and internet with in unit washer/dryer, which is more than you need to spend in the neighborhood for sure, but in general the central west end is the most expensive place to live.

I like the neighborhood, but may be moving north of the park to the outer edge of CWE to live with some friends since I've realized I don't really like living alone plus we may all try to get a house or something. If you don't have a car I do think that living in the loop 1L year is nice since it's just easier to get to campus, especially if you want to stay at school past midnight since the metro closes and if you don't want to rely on others for rides.

Thank you for the housing info (esp the map)! I will definitely plan on having an extra day to check out neighborhoods when I come down to visit.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
