Despites I am a fan of Mavericks, and I guess I would like to live in Dallas, I pretty much know nothing about the legal market in the area. With no tie at all there, what do you think the odds of getting a *decent* job after graduation? Big law is not necessary, but still want to be a lawyer.
best school in a great market. so yeah you can get a job here

Nope
On one of my times when the date changed, it changed and then nothing happened for like a month. My best guess is that the date just changes everytime they touch your file.

I called yesterday and was told they would have a decision by the end of the month....seemed like a random offer meant to appease me...I'm still hopeful something will happen today as well...Although I don't know if they are fully staffed given its Good Friday.

They're not. I believe the school is actually closed. I could be wrong but I reached out to financial aid the other day and was told they wouldn't be back in the office until Monday.

My step mother and her daughter are chinese and live in Dallas, University Park by SMU. Maybe I can give you their FB info so you can connect. There is a really strong Chinese community in the Dallas area, so you should fit in pretty well. :)

I really hope they come with their decisions this coming week. The week before last they said they should be making their decisions last week, but no response so hopefully they start making them this week. Id really like to know, or its houston for me which isn't all that terribly bad with its huge legal market and consistent population growth. I am also a bit concerned on the lst employment score hit it took last year, it was a smaller class than 2012, and 2012 score was 75. Now it is 69 with a smaller class.

At this rate, I'm sure I'll be graduating from another law school before I hear back from SMU. They took my $75 and ran.

wow....went from 'held for further review' (which I assumed meant waitlist) for three months....to just now receiving an offer to be "waitlisted" today. I assumed I'd have an actual answer this week...

This waiting is just a tad difficult....

Are y'all getting the waitlist news from the online status or do they send you an email letting you know?

Yeah I'm pretty sure I am going to do it. I have read such good things, and I figure it can't hurt. So finances permitting I probably will.

Hey - at least we have that going for us ;)

I'm just wondering how many of these "scholarships" they have to go around. It's probably just one -_-

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
