Congrats to all the new admits! I went complete last week of January, so I'm not expecting to hear back until March.

Yes, but we made it this far, out of thousands of applicants competing for 200 seats.lastsamurai wrote:pfeeny...it's 2:27 p.m. ESTpatfeeney wrote:We all made it through today, so technically we're all still in the running for those fewer-than-200, solid-gold seats.alex.cm wrote:

We should have no expectations for getting in, so every minute that passes is one more minute that we are in the running. This should be the mindset of everyone on this site who isn't 180/4.0 or found a cure for cancer.

I never said my visions had any basis in actual precedent. I'd definitely RATHER just get dinged this month than wait for another 8 weeks.The-Specs wrote:That is exactly what will happen if you are WL but if you are going to be rejected and are a Oct/Nov applicant you are almost certainly going to hear back this month.alex.cm wrote:I have visions of being strung along until April.anubis1911 wrote: When should we expect to be put out of our misery?

Fair. My hope is to make the waitlist, that would be a incredible moral victory for me. I have zero expectation of getting in, so with that in mind, if I can make it through Feb without a ding there is a realy possibility that I have accomplished that goal.alex.cm wrote:I never said my visions had any basis in actual precedent. Has anyone, anywhere, been rejected yet, though? I'm just thinking that my app has been in the "to be rejected during the first wave in Feb" since they first read it in October! I wish they would stop posting on twitter every time they accept anyone. It causes me nothing but heartache and anxiety.

Both WL and Dings get an email but they also send out a rejection letter at the same time. I guess they think it is some kind of consolation…?drawstring wrote:Dings are via snail mail, right?
Also, first round of rejections went out on the 8th of Feb last year. Buckle-up everyone.

Also, I like that they post on twitter every time they make calls. I find it helps reduce stressful speculation.

Ahh - don't tell me that! I need to stop reading this thread. I preferred pretending there was no information and no timeline about decisions at YLS. Now I'm starting to panic a bit. :/The-Specs wrote:Both WL and Dings get an email but they also send out a rejection letter at the same time. Dude. Yale. Anything other than a straight-out rejection is three-quarters full. They could just mail printed copies of our applications that have been used as napkins during their late-night pizza runs, but they actually take everyone seriously. It's kind of cool. I feel special just applying.kathj06 wrote:Has anyone, anywhere, been rejected yet, though? Hah, I love this: "I feel special just applying." I do too, except Asha, just put me out of my misery and start rejections earlier than last year. Now that football is over I have NOTHING else to focus my anxiety on.patfeeney wrote:Dude. Yale. Anything other than a straight-out rejection is three-quarters full. Assuming there's a Facebook group like for other schools, can anyone who's been admitted tell us how many people are currently in the group? Inquiring minds want to know.
