Never thought I'd want to put "comforting" and "math" in the same sentence. ThanksLavitz wrote: Don't worry. There's no way there have been 600 interviews in just two weeks. At most, I think there were 6 interview days. That would be 100 a day or 50 each for JS and KB. Since each interview is 20 minutes, that would mean each was interviewing for about 16 hours a day. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

I'm guessing I won't go complete in the next 24 hours with potential JS2s going out... Gonna be a loooong break sitting at received.
(Hopefully this reverse jinx is successful.)

We don't have class Wednesday-Friday for Thanksgiving, so my guess is that the first batch of KB2s, etc. will go out tomorrow. Good luck everyone!!

After lamenting all last week about how Alabama stands no chance at getting into the championship after losing to Texas A&M and calling my friends delusional for thinking Oregon and Kansas State would lose to pave our way back in... I'm feeling pretty good about my skills.Yukos wrote: Well executed regardless of outcome

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Has anyone else noticed a similarity to the original batch of JS1s? The first batch on 10/31 was very small: only 3 TLSers reported getting invites and there were only two days on the interview schedule. Two days later on 11/2, a huge batch of JS1s came out and 3-4 more days were added to the schedule. And now today we have confirmed JS1s, but only one TLSer reporting it and only one day available on the interview schedule.
If this is an intentional pattern, we should expect to see another large batch of JS1s coming in the next few days, accompanied by the addition of new days on the interview schedule. So--assuming the admissions office is open Wednesday--I would guess we'll see JS1s one day and the JS2s the other day. The only question would be which one will happen each day. Although I suppose it's not logistically impossible for them to both come out on the same day. And as usual, I could be completely wrong about everything.
Thoughts?

Since JS2s require actually talking to the person whereas JS1s are just emails, JS2s should be tomorrow not Wednesday due to the high amount of travel on Wednesday (the day before thanksgiving)

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I've been thinking along these lines as well. Also, there's not much room for error: I'm sure they'd like to get out of work early Wednesday, and that won't happen if they run behind schedule with the calls or something.bernaldiaz wrote:Since JS2s require actually talking to the person whereas JS1s are just emails, JS2s should be tomorrow not Wednesday due to the high amount of travel on Wednesday (the day before thanksgiving)
ETA: Wednesday wouldn't be unheard of though. Even though the last 3 cycles have been the Monday before Thanksgiving, I dug this up from the Harvard 2010 thread:
2008-2009 11/25 (Tuesday before Thanksgiving)
2007-2008 11/21 (Wednesday before Thanksgiving)
2006-2007 11/20 (Monday before Thanksgiving)
2005-2006 11/25 (Friday after Thanksgiving)
2004-2005 11/23 (Tuesday before Thanksgiving)

Also, you all need to quit freaking out about when the JS2s will come out. They will come.
To those who have competitive numbers, but don't have JS1s yet, don't stress. JS1s will be made continually throughout the year. Just because you don't get a JS1 in one wave or another does not mean that the staff has passed on your application.

Reading through HLS Financial aid process/LIPP details has me foaming at the mouth.
Good luck to everyone in the first batch of applications.

I know what you mean. I read everything in detail a couple of days ago and was like shit :/. For some reason I thought they were really more generous with loans if you're really poor.sinfiery wrote:Reading through HLS Financial aid process/LIPP details has me foaming at the mouth.

Your friends called you delusional? You should try going to UF. 48,000 students here are convinced that KState and Alabama and Oregon all lost just because fate decrees that the Gators must be in the national championship. Now we just need you to lose to Georgia and ND to lose....sabanist wrote:After lamenting all last week about how Alabama stands no chance at getting into the championship after losing to Texas A&M and calling my friends delusional for thinking Oregon and Kansas State would lose to pave our way back in...
