Honestly, you never know. A 169 is a great score, and if you have some great softs and recs, you have a shot. Especially during this cycle. Good luck!emarxnj wrote:I have some financial support from family (apps and tuition), so I figure I'll give it a shot. I know it's early, but does it seem like 3.1/169 /2 years WE would even be worth a shot? I know schools are looking for the higher LSAT, but I assumed the GPA would make it not worth it for Michigan.

What if those who participated in Tweet Chat were given a check mark on their wait-listed application? Think about it

Seems that people who haven't gone complete got it too, so the email can't be targeted.

They could get waitlisted though -- just sayin' -- when they pick those files back up for review and see that check mark....it does show interest doesn't it?

I'm not sure you're considering factors like: If somebody doesn't have their "real" name in use within their Twitter account. @UMichLaw isn't gonna be like: "Hey what's your real name so we can mark that you've participated in this topical banter?"

They could put a note on the file of those who use their real names.

Can anyone from the area answer a question for me? I have a significant other and despite her giving me free range on my school selection and she will move with me, I need to take into consideration job prospects. She current does social media and PR for a Fortune 300 financial institution in Chicago. She would ideally need to make comparable pay in a comprable job if we are to realistically consider a move. Are there any large firms in the immediate area where she could accomplish this?

Obviously there are some big firms in Detroit and a few in Ann Arbor, but it isn't Chi Town.

Got an email today that read:
[my name], I think you look like a terrific candidate for law school. More, your background suggests that you may be a great fit in our collegial and collaborative community. That's why we sent you a letter and a viewbook, not to mention a fee waiver, to make applying cost-free.
But, at least as of a few days ago, you haven't sent us anything at all. What the what?
I Immediately went to lsac and applied

I truly like that Michigan is probably the most non-pretentious top law school. The school's website has news and articles that are truly practical, interesting, and even include tasteful humor, and most other top law schools don't. I believe this doesn't mean at all that the school is less academically rigorous.
