Will do. Thanks for the advice! Just got an email request for fall term grades. Is this good/ bad/ unknowable? Columbia is my top choice and I am rocking both medians to the decimal point. What does this mean????

Really into the status checker that doesn't actually say anything.

Probably not bad. If you were an auto-ding why would they bother requesting your fall grades?SpatulasRcool13 wrote:Just got an email request for fall term grades. Is this good/ bad/ unknowable? Columbia is my top choice and I am rocking both medians to the decimal point. What does this mean????

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
They requested mine too. I think it's because I'm way under their LSAT stats, and they want to see if I can at least keep my GPA high enough that I wouldn't hurt their ranking with my GPA too if they decided to accept me in the end. It may be similar for you too, since you are not too far above their stats, so they want to make sure you didn't do poorly last semester. I agree with Helix. Also, I refuse to accept that my dream school would ding me

That's strange... I submitted on 1/3 and got an e-mail about completion today, 1/8 (also on Status Checker). Columbia seems to be pretty speedy from what I've seen.

Except the part where they don't admit anyone RD until like the last week of January, I'd agree.carboncopyx wrote:That's strange... I submitted on 1/3 and got an e-mail about completion today, 1/8 (also on Status Checker). Columbia seems to be pretty speedy from what I've seen.

And for the part where the first time in recent (or all of, not entirely sure) history, they waited until January to release a significant amount of ED decisions, rather than December. For the T6 and Penn at least, I can say they are making decisions much slower than last year.

Maybe cause they have a lot to lose and there's not as many 170+ers as they were expecting? Hence waiting til all apps are in to make decisions...?JamesDean1955 wrote:And for the part where the first time in recent (or all of, not entirely sure) history, they waited until January to release a significant amount of ED decisions, rather than December. To be fair, I was pretty excited when they completed my app in like 5 days tooJamesDean1955 wrote:And for the part where the first time in recent (or all of, not entirely sure) history, they waited until January to release a significant amount of ED decisions, rather than December. It's snail mail, but check last year's thread for some "alternative" options, assuming they do things the same way this year.az21833 wrote:"Please note that decisions will not be available online; rather, all applicants will receive their decisions by mail. "

Alright, you guys inspired me to email them - thanks!
Somewhere they're sitting around a table laughing because I was just an auto-ding, and they didn't want to bother putting me at Complete.

I think we'll still need someone with a VCE to use the alternative method right?twinkletoes16 wrote:Tiago Splitter wrote:It's snail mail, but check last year's thread for some "alternative" options, assuming they do things the same way this year.az21833 wrote:"Please note that decisions will not be available online; rather, all applicants will receive their decisions by mail. Yeah, unless you can guess the right password. But the message they put up after last year's incident asked everyone not to share the login info.banjo wrote:I think we'll still need someone with a VCE to use the alternative method right?Tiago Splitter wrote: It's snail mail, but check last year's thread for some "alternative" options, assuming they do things the same way this year.
ETA: Comic from last year's thread removed due to complaints of apparently racist undertones.

That little comic might have been funny to me had it not reminded me of sambo imagery.
