Re: CU-Boulder Applicants Class of 2015
Would folks who received any sort of scholarship Pm with the details of their numbers and scholarship offer? I've applied for this cycle but I'm not sure what will come of it and I'm curious what I could expect next cycle. LSN isn't the best guide and people don't post super reliably. Also have you folks noticed any general pattern in offers? Like does above one median get you something generally or is it a little more random?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I suggest taking a look at pages 26 and 27 of this topic. CU released a big batch of scholarships around that time and several posters have their stats in their profiles.colorando wrote:Would folks who received any sort of scholarship Pm with the details of their numbers and scholarship offer? Decision sent via snail mail. No deposits on my page and this is pretty late in the game.

Re: CU-Boulder Applicants Class of 2015
Received "my" acceptance letter today (after decision rendered 3/29 according to status).
Surprised to see it belongs to the person likely immediately prior to me in the mail merge. This, btw, is why mail merges should be mailed out using windowed envelopes.
I assume that it was a merge of accepted students and that I too was accepted, but I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
But if you're an applicant in Lawrence, KS, and you just got someone else's letter today, PM me. I might have your letter. [EDIT: So I found the applicant in question on the KU website and emailed them. Although I'm guessing they're watching the championship game rather than checking email.]

Re: CU-Boulder Applicants Class of 2015
decision letter sent 3/26. I live in florida and i still haven't received my letter, it's been over a week. I got worried because i also applied to university of san francisco, and they sent their decision letter on 3/28 and i got it yesterday. since california is a lot farther than colorado, something must have happened to my letter, wtf!
i called the admissions office today and they were happy to scan my letter and email it to me. i've been put on the waitlist, which surprised me, withdraw people!

Apologies if this has been addressed previously, but does anyone know if CU negotiates scholarships? I got $18k/$6k/$6k. I just don't think that will make it affordable enough, and I am trying desperately not to let my fantasy life in Colorado go.

Yes they negotiate. If people drop out you might go to the "front of the line" for their money.B986 wrote:Apologies if this has been addressed previously, but does anyone know if CU negotiates scholarships? Re: CU-Boulder Applicants Class of 2015
Just got off the WL today. Yay!
The ASD is this weekend though
Gonna be hard to afford so soon. Anybody know if there is another ASD later on April or if Colorado offers a travel stipend?
Thanks

Congrats on getting of the WL!
I hope to have the same fate, soon.
If you don't mind me asking, how did they notify you? Was there any change to your status checker?

This is already the second ASD; the first one was in early March.hadisious wrote: The ASD is this weekend thoughGonna be hard to afford so soon. Anybody know if there is another ASD later on April or if Colorado offers a travel stipend?
I wrote an email a few weeks ago asking about a travel stipend and was told that I would hear back from someone, but that person hasn't responded to me yet. I sent a follow-up email earlier today. I'll let everyone if/when I hear anything.

I called them and the lady was really nice, but told me they weren't offering travel stipends for this ASD. The only reason the did so for the last one was because it fell on the Diversity Student Weekend.

I heard via snail mail. But my status checker did change to 'Decision rendered' again with another 'Decision mailed' in the mailings.rma wrote:hadisious wrote:Just got off the WL today. Yay!

I don't think my status ever changed from decision rendered after they waitlisted me.. Did yours go to something else in between? How long were you on the wl?

Off the waitlist! And after looking at the cost for out of state tuition purposes and no scholarship....crap.

Re: CU-Boulder Applicants Class of 2015
You know that in-state tuition is handed out like candy at Colorado, don't you? In-state is virtually guaranteed in your 2L and 3L years. That being said, in-state tuition has been going up like 7 - 9% a year and is now at a level that it is barely tolerable by in-state residents.

Visited and loved the campus. However, a 50% employment rate at graduation means I am withdrawing. Hope one of you gets my scholly $$. Good luck all.

I had a great time visiting the school too. But those numbers also really scared me. 50% employed and mean private practice salary of about 60k. They also said that only 8 people went to big firms last year. I'm not saying everyone should go to a big firm. But that seems really low.holden147 wrote:Visited and loved the campus. Otherwise the open house was really fun. The mock class was great. But we only heard from one professor the whole day.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
